Lead and execute integration strategies using MuleSoft APIs, collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring developers, and establishing best practices while ensuring compliance and security.
MuleSoft Lead Developer
Location: Remote (EST preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead integration strategy and execution: Design and deliver scalable, reusable MuleSoft APIs and integrations while ensuring alignment with business needs and technical standards.
- Collaborate at all levels: Partner with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders (including client executives) to gather integration requirements and clearly communicate implementation strategies.
- Hands-on leadership: While not a full-time developer role, be capable of jumping into the code and logs when necessary to troubleshoot issues and guide solutions.
- Solution design and triage: Analyze integration problems at a high level, identify root causes, and define effective solutions. Be able to explain the how and why behind your approach.
- Establish best practices: Define and enforce MuleSoft development best practices, coding standards, and integration patterns.
- Manage full API lifecycle: Oversee design, development, deployment, monitoring, and versioning of APIs and integrations.
- Mentor and guide developers: Provide technical leadership through code reviews, training, and coaching, ensuring quality and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure security and compliance: Adhere to data privacy standards and corporate governance policies.
- Engage in Agile delivery: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support sprint planning, estimation, and delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of integration development experience, including 5+ years in MuleSoft.
- MuleSoft Certified Developer (Level 1 or 2) and/or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect preferred.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, RAML, JSON, XML, and SOAP.
- Hands-on experience with Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager, and DataWeave.
- Skilled at log analysis and troubleshooting, with the ability to pinpoint issues and design solutions quickly.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins) and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience integrating with Salesforce and related ecosystems is strongly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to work directly with senior stakeholders.
