Haus is looking for a Motion Designer to join our Los Angeles team. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing design work to life across campaigns, digital experiences, and brand storytelling — animating with intention, craft, and a strong sense of timing. The ideal candidate leads with motion expertise while also contributing meaningfully to the design and concepting process.

Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Animate and bring to life design work across a range of formats — social, web, brand, campaign
  • Collaborate with ADs and CDs from early stages to help inform how motion can shape a concept
  • Develop motion style frames, animatics, and final delivery-ready assets
  • Contribute design ideas and style sensibility when concepting — your voice matters beyond just animation
  • Stay sharp on emerging tools and techniques, from procedural animation to interactive motion

What you'll bring:

  • Strong motion design portfolio demonstrating range, craft, and a clear sense of timing and feel
  • Solid After Effects and Premiere skills
  • Strong understanding of design fundamentals
  • Cinema 4D or other 3D skills is a major plus
  • Experience with procedural animation (expressions, scripts, or tools like Cavalry) is a bonus
  • Awareness of code-based animation formats (Lottie, Rive) appreciated
  • Figma proficiency for collaboration and asset handoff

Benefits

We're a digital design studio in Los Angeles built on the belief that creativity and technology are better together. Our team is diverse, multidisciplinary, and deeply invested in the craft. We work with brands across industries, from emerging startups to household names, on projects that push what digital can do.

If you're looking for a place where your ideas are heard, your growth is supported, and the work actually matters–we'd love to meet you.

The estimated compensation for this position is $75k-$105k per year, plus a 401k, medical, dental, vision, life and optional benefits, paid time off, fun events and more.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
