About the Team / Role

At WEX Health & Benefits, we’re transforming how customers manage their benefits by becoming a mobile-first organization. Our mission is to build simple, intuitive, and reliable mobile experiences that help people administer complex benefits—anytime, anywhere. As we consolidate multiple benefit lines (HSA, FSA, HRA, COBRA, enrollment, claims, and more) into a single, unified mobile experience, mobile is no longer an extension of the portal—it is the foundation.

As a Senior Product Manager – Mobile, you will define and lead the multi-year vision for our mobile platform. This role goes beyond feature delivery—you will shape strategy, drive competitive differentiation, and ensure our mobile app delivers seamless, human-centered experiences at scale. You will operate at a strategic level, setting direction for mobile initiatives while partnering closely with engineering, UX, analytics, domain product managers, and business stakeholders to bring that vision to life.

This is a high-visibility role with significant ownership and the opportunity to influence WEX’s mobile-first transformation across the Health & Benefits organization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Define and drive a 2–5 year strategic vision for the mobile platform aligned to company goals and market trends

  • Lead WEX’s transition to a mobile-first product operating model, designing for mobile first and adapting experiences across channels

  • Own and evolve the mobile product roadmap, balancing innovation, platform stability, scalability, and technical health

  • Identify competitive gaps and emerging opportunities to differentiate the mobile experience

  • Champion human-centered, mobile-first design grounded in customer insights, research, and app analytics

  • Collaborate with domain product managers (e.g., claims, enrollment, benefits administration) to ensure seamless mobile integration across lines of business

  • Partner closely with mobile engineering (iOS and Android) to align on architecture, performance, security, accessibility, and scalability

  • Ensure alignment with backend services and APIs to deliver reliable, high-performing mobile functionality

  • Incorporate App Store and Google Play guidelines, release processes, and accessibility requirements into roadmap planning

  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, outcomes, and well-defined initiatives for agile delivery teams

  • Leverage experimentation (A/B testing, feature flags, phased rollouts) to test and optimize mobile engagement and performance

  • Present mobile strategy, roadmap updates, and outcomes to executive and cross-functional audiences

  • Mentor and collaborate with other product managers to create a cohesive, unified platform experience

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of progressive product management experience, including 3+ years of direct mobile app product creation experience (iOS and/or Android), with demonstrated ownership of mobile roadmap strategy

  • Proven experience delivering customer-facing mobile products in an enterprise or highly scaled environment

  • Strong understanding of mobile product discovery, user journey mapping, and iterative delivery practices

  • Demonstrated knowledge of App Store and Google Play submission processes, release management, platform guidelines, and accessibility standards

  • Ability to operate strategically while also driving execution across multiple initiatives

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, UX, architecture, analytics, and business stakeholders

  • Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to engage both executive and highly technical audiences

  • Experience defining success metrics and using data to improve mobile adoption, engagement, retention, and app ratings

  • Self-motivated, outcome-oriented mindset with strong follow-through and ownership

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in benefits administration, healthcare technology, fintech, or regulated consumer products

  • Familiarity with consumer-directed accounts (HSA, FSA, HRA), COBRA, enrollment, or claims workflows

  • Experience leading mobile-first or digital transformation initiatives

  • Interest in growing into people leadership as the mobile team continues to expand

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
