About the Job

At BuildOps, we’re building a groundbreaking software solution, purpose-built to support today’s commercial contractors. From helping our customers manage their service department all the way to project management, we’re breaking the mold and building a team that invests in our mission statement. We love driven, self-motivated folks experienced in tech start-ups and thrive in fast-paced environments. Could you be our next hire?

This candidate will join a very high performing team on a well-funded, fast-growing technology startup with the unique opportunity to help lead a critical area of focus for the company.

As a Mobile Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to build industry leading mobile solutions that empower technicians to complete work efficiently, deliver world-class customer service, and stay connected with their teams. You’ll gain deep knowledge of our users - their workflows, challenges, and priorities - and partner with engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to create intuitive mobile-first experiences that scale across the industries we serve. You will work closely with other Product Managers to define common needs in order to create innovative solutions that solve problems in a reusable and scalable manner. You will be expected to meet KPIs and metrics that are customer driven.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive the product vision and roadmap for your domain, working closely with a team of engineers, designers, QA, and data teams to deliver high-quality mobile features on time.
  • Engage directly with technicians, project managers, and contractors to understand mobile-specific workflows and validate solutions.
  • Champion mobile UX best practices, ensuring ease of use in field conditions (offline support, speed, accessibility, etc).
  • Leverage AI/ML opportunities to simplify mobile workflows and improve technician productivity.
  • Work closely with other Product Managers, Customer Success, and Sales team members to understand priorities and align the roadmap with business objectives
  • Communicate priorities and feature  releases company wide for visibility. Work directly with early adopter customers for Beta Testing and feedback, and work closely with the Customer Success team for wider rollouts.
  • Own KPIs related to mobile adoption, CSAT, feature utilization, and customer efficiency gains.
What We Look For
  • 3-5 years of product management experience, with at least 3-4 years focused on mobile products (B2B SaaS preferred).
  • Strong technical fluency—comfortable working with engineering, APIs, and analytics (SQL a plus).
  • Deep understanding of mobile ecosystems (App Store/Play Store distribution, native frameworks, mobile performance, push notifications).
  • Excellent communication skills - collaborating with go-to-market, Engineering, Product, and Design teams; and directly with customers.
  • Strong product management skills - demonstrated ability to ship 0 to 1; and scale.
  • Strong customer research and user empathy - comfortable shadowing technicians in the field, running interviews, and working closely with customers to translate their needs into mobile-first solutions.
  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and experience working in an agile environment.
  • Mission-driven individuals, motivated by solving complex real-world challenges.
Bonus
  • Experience with contractor, construction, or field service workflows.
  • Background in mobile apps supporting field service, project management, equipment tracking, or maintenance workflows.
  • Firsthand knowledge of operating or working as part of a mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or similar shop, or other similar experience.
  • Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, Slack, FigmaMake
Who You Are
  • A strategic thinker who thrives in a high-growth startup environment
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems
  • A self-starter who takes ownership and delivers results
  • Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn from others
  • A team player with integrity, grit, and a strong work ethic

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
