Anduril's Maritime Division is responsible for planning and executing Anduril's product and revenue roadmap for maritime missions. Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide.
ABOUT THE JOBAs a Mission Systems Software Lead, you will take ownership of applying our mission autonomy software to our new surface maritime product. You’ll collaborate with our Mission Autonomy and Vehicle Management Software teams to solve a wide variety of problems involving autonomy, systems integration, testing, and more, while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs along the way, and ensuring that Anduril products seamlessly work together to achieve a variety of critical outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Lead a team that develops software that runs on- and off- platform, using a variety of technologies
- Leverage the Anduril Software Product organization to implement and introduce cross-domain solutions for autonomy on the edge
- Generate system solutions to increase reliability, ease-of-use, and capability across a variety of customer missions
- Partner with the Vehicle Software team that is responsible for core sensor and actuator functionality
- Collaborate on interfacing requirements between Vehicle Management System and Mission System stacks
- Write and maintain core libraries (frame transformations, targeting and guidance, communications, etc.) that all robotics platforms at Anduril will use
- Drive architecture selection and design for robotic mission systems, including hardware selection, compute, storage and network architecture
- Service orchestration and other software platform concerns that balance constraints, restrictions, and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Drive the design and implementation of development processes for the initial delivery and subsequent iteration of mission software, including full lifecycle testing
- Drive the creation of test and simulation fixtures that operate with both software- and hardware-in-the-loop
- Own major feature developments for the Unmanned Surface Platform and manage rollout to the fleet
- Travel up to 25% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world
- Strong engineering background, ideally in areas/fields such as computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or physics, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization
- Strong C++ and/or Python experience in a Linux development environment
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
- Experience with the development and sustainment of distributed software platform and application architectures, running under dynamic network topologies
- Capacity to work holistically on software enabled capabilities up and down the software stack and through lifecycle through design, implementation, operation and sustainment
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- MS or PhD
- Experience programming for embedded and physical devices
- Experience working with, and testing, electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with modeling and simulation
- Rust and/or Go experience
- Experience in one or more of the following: high performance compute, network programming, fault tolerance, fault handling, DevSecOps
- Experience with complex frame transformation problems, such as target localization or multi degree of freedom robotic arms
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
