The Opportunity
MIM's Global Real Estate and Agricultural Investments maintains a portfolio invested in commercial real estate and agricultural mortgages, as well as real estate equities. In addition to sourcing and managing these investments, the groups are responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key industry contacts and referral sources. The mortgage portfolio and equity portfolio units are organized according to specialty, and they actively manage MetLife's portfolio of mortgage loans and equity investments in agricultural, office, apartment, retail, industrial, and hotel properties. The portfolio units are responsible for overall portfolio strategy, pricing, transaction approval and credit approval on new loans, as well as the active management of the overall mortgage and equity portfolios. Real Estate Investments sources and manages commercial real estate investments through seven regional field offices (Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Whippany, NJ) and four international offices (London, Mexico City, Tokyo and Santiago).
The Analyst will support the Northeast Regional Office (NERO) Asset Management team in leasing, property management, construction management, client reporting, valuation and overall accounting for a defined portfolio of commercial investment properties. Property types may include office, retail, multi-family and industrial.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense management to maximize asset performance and recurring net income.
  • Support lease analysis, negotiations, and contract preparation while coordinating with attorneys, consultants, and external partners.
  • Oversee quarterly asset valuations, including internal assessments and review of third-party appraisals.
  • Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to implement strategies that enhanced leasing activity, operations, and capital expenditures.
  • Support asset business plans, reporting, acquisitions, dispositions, due diligence efforts, and property transitions.
  • Assist with asset sales by engaging brokers, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and managing due diligence through closing.

Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS in related field.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment, effectively handling multiple issues, prioritizing deadlines appropriately and remaining flexible and professional.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in institutional real estate, preferably in asset management and/or acquisitions.
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel and Argus Enterprise modeling, joint venture waterfalls and promote structures.
  • Experience using AI tools

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with real estate specific applications, such as Argus Enterprise, View The Space (VTS), DealPath, Chatham Financial and MRI/Yardi a plus.
  • High level of initiative, strong work ethic, attention to detail and willingness to work across teams.
  • MBA preferred

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $95,000 - $100,000 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
