Arketa is building the operating system for modern fitness and wellness. Our mission is to make wellness more accessible by empowering studios and wellness entrepreneurs to grow beyond in-person classes. We provide a powerful, all-in-one platform to manage and scale hybrid wellness businesses—whether online, in-person, or both.

With Arketa, users can easily manage schedules, accept bookings and payments, build on-demand video libraries, host retreats, and run marketing campaigns via text and email. We also offer fully branded apps and websites, so studios can deliver a seamless, professional experience across every customer touchpoint.

We’ve raised $6M in seed funding from First Round Capital and are growing quickly. It’s a unique moment to join us—we’re building a category-defining company in a fast-moving space, and we’re looking for teammates who are excited to help shape the future of wellness.

The Role:

As a Migration Operations Engineer at Arketa, you’ll play a critical role in one of the most make-or-break moments for new customers: migrating their data from a previous platform to Arketa. If a migration goes smoothly, the customer is set up for success. If it goes poorly, it creates immediate friction. You’ll be responsible for scripting, running, validating, and supporting high-stakes migrations—often involving personal and payment data.

You’ll collaborate closely with our existing Migrations Engineer and our Customer Success & Onboarding team. You’ll help shape repeatable, scalable processes that ensure every new partner's transition into Arketa is fast, clean, and accurate.

What You’ll Do:

  • Write and run TypeScript (and sometimes Python) scripts to migrate data into Arketa

  • Validate data accuracy and integrity before and after migration—including sensitive PII and payment data

  • Collaborate with onboarding managers to understand each customer’s needs and unique data formats

  • Debug and fix import issues quickly when they arise

  • Roll up your sleeves and make manual adjustments in spreadsheets or client accounts when needed

  • Develop automations to improve our migration workflows

  • Occasionally stay late or work flexible hours for large migrations with time-sensitive go-live dates

What We’re Looking For:

  • 1+ years of programming experience in a professional role at a reputable company (internships okay; personal projects alone do not qualify)

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred) or Python

  • Experience writing scripts to transform or process structured data (e.g. CSVs, JSON)

  • Strong attention to detail and a bias for accuracy and accountability

  • Excellent communicator who can collaborate cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams

  • Comfortable working under pressure during high-impact data transfers

  • This role requires overlap with the PST time zone for team collaboration.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with payment systems or handling sensitive data

  • Prior experience in data ops, migrations, or customer onboarding

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary, Stock Options, and Performance-based Bonuses

  • Comprehensive Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Annual Company Offsites

  • Wellness Reimbursement

  • Catered Lunches/Snacks (in NYC Only)

  • Ownership and Opportunity for Advancement

For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is $45,000–$75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, we offer equity and performance-based bonuses as part of our total compensation package. We believe in compensating fairly and transparently, and we’re happy to provide more detail during the interview process.

Arketa is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity in its workforce. We actively encourage applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace fosters innovation and creativity, and we welcome candidates who share our values of respect, collaboration, and excellence.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
