Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced scheduling migration specialist to support large-scale migrations to IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS). This role serves as a subject matter expert in batch scheduling conversion across development, test, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support migration of batch scheduling workloads to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.
  • Analyze legacy scheduling definitions from CA-7, CA ESP, Jobtrac, BMC Control-M, and ASG Zeke/Zebb and map them to IBM scheduler structures.
  • Execute parallel tracking, schedule validation, dependency analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor workload execution using TSO/ISPF and IBM scheduler interfaces.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to scheduling teams and operational staff.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

  • Strong mainframe background in OS/390 or z/OS
  • Deep hands-on experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS).
  • Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV scheduling platforms such as CA-7, CA ESP, CA Workload Automation ESP, Jobtrac, BMC Control-M, or ASG Zeke/Zebb to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.
  • Strong TSO/ISPF editing skills and expert-level understanding of JCL.
  • Experience with dependency analysis, schedule validation, report review, and iterative parallel tracking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration and customer-facing work.

Preferred / Additional Skills

  • REXX programming skills.
  • Workload Automation Programming Language WAPL
  • Dynamic Workload Console familiarity.
