Job Description

Convey is seeking an experienced and dynamic Middle-Market Sales Executive with a strong background in SaaS and experience selling into the utility/energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Middle-Market sales, demonstrating a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and fostering long-term client relationships in large, complex accounts in North America.

Each client will have distinct and unique needs and your role will be to understand the market, the client, and our solutions so you can creatively solve their unique business challenges. In many cases, this will be a highly consultative approach and you will be liaising with our internal teams in technology and product to build the optimum solution for your customer.

What you’ll do:

· Drive Revenue Growth: Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities within assigned accounts.

· Lead Generation: Prospect and generate leads within greenfield accounts using various channels, including networking, attending industry events/conferences, cold calling, and leveraging existing relationships you have in the industry.

· Client Relationship Management: Develop trusted relationships across all levels and teams in your accounts, including C-level executives, decision-makers, and other important stakeholders.

· Product Representation: Represent the entire range of company products and services to your assigned customers. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to the specific needs of each customer and prospect.

· Solution Selling: Understand the market and client needs and collaborate with internal teams in technology and product to build the optimum solution for your customers.

· Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements to close deals while maximizing profitability.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, and Account Management to ensure customer satisfaction and successful implementation of solutions.

· Sales Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of new, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities. Maintain sales contacts, prospects pipeline, and forecast information in Salesforce.com.

· Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

What you have - Required Skills:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

· Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years working in B2B SaaS sales roles with Middle-Market customers, preferably in the utilities/energy sector.

· Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the utilities and energy industry, including market trends, challenges, and unique regulatory environments.

· Skills:

o Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with senior-level executives.

o Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

o Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Strong negotiating, influencing, and interpersonal skills.

o Tech-savvy and comfortable in a field that combines elements of multiple disciplines (technology, marketing, etc.).

· Travel: Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events (35-50% travel could be required at various times of the year).
