The Boeing Global Services (BGS) organization is seeking a Mid-Level Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join the Environment, Health and Safety's (EHS) team in San Diego, CA or Jacksonville, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements

  • Acts as primary site contact with regulatory agencies

  • Prepares and submits permit applications

  • Performs program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents

  • Evaluates workplace hazards

  • Provides input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance

  • Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements

  • Evaluates impact of new regulations on company operations

  • Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals

  • Develops, coordinates, and updates the Field Operations (FO) EHS Plan

  • Provides technical assistance on EHS issues and regulations, including international regulations; this includes, but is not limited to, site assist visits, pre-audit reviews, and audits

  • Prioritizes EHS efforts in order to have the greatest impact on the number and severity of incidents

  • Connects with management when a work operation needs modification or suspension due to an EHS issue

  • Assists managers/leads in implementation of EHS programs

  • Prepares and distributes monthly EHS meeting presentations and metrics

  • Supervises the progress of corrective action plans

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience working in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)

  • 3+ years of experience assessing and evaluating risk

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Toxicology, Bio-Engineering, Public Health, etc.)

  • Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

  • 1+ years of experience managing of procedures and storage of ordnance

  • 1+ years of experience managing projects

  • Prior Aviation experience

  • Experience with Enablon

Summary pay range: $95,200 – $138,000
