Position Summary:   

We are looking to hire a talented, eager, and skilled Mid-Level Full Stack PHP Developer to join our team in a remote position. The Mid-Level Full Stack Developer The Mid-Level Developer is responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of our software solutions. They should possess expertise in PHP, Docker, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and MongoDB. Additionally, a strong background in Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Scrum practices is essential.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using PHP, Symfony, and other web development technologies.
  • Work with a team of developers to implement new features and bug fixes.
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure the quality of the code.
  • Optimize web applications for performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Document code and processes.
  • Help identify problems and collaborate with senior developers to generate solutions promptly
  • Mentor and train Junior developers
  • Testing other developers’ functionality
  • Ability to estimate given tasks and manage key dates and deadlines
  • Integrating with APIs and collaborating to solve issues
  • Write back-end code and build efficient PHP modules
  • On-Call Rotation: When scheduled in the on-call rotation, the developer is expected to be available after hours for the duration of their assigned week to respond to critical issues and support operational continuity.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of PHP 5.4+ experience
  • Strong understanding of PHP, Docker, HTML, Nginx, Twig, Symfony, MongoDB, HTML, CSS, Git, PHPUnit, Linux and jQuery.
  • Solid OOP fundamentals
  • Experience with Agile, test-driven, and Scrum development methodologies.
  • HIPAA
  • EU Data Privacy Directive
  • Knowledge and interest in computer systems and the latest technologies
  • Commitment to continual learning, professional development, and keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
  • The ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Innovative problem solver, using critical thinking to address challenges proactively 
  • The ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Leadership skills – provide guidance and support
  • Attention to detail and desire to probe further into data
