Diamond Foundry is seeking an individual with strong problem solving skills who will apply physics and engineering principles in the design of new equipment used for diamond growth. A successful candidate likely has prior experience with semiconductor equipment design or experience with plasma systems.
Responsibilities
- Design new microwave components and systems used for plasma enhanced CVD reactors and other tools used in the production of CVD diamond
- Model the plasma and microwave behavior of reactor components in order to improve reactor designs and understanding
- Develop diagnostics for reactor and plasma monitoring and control, implementing diagnostics in manufacturing
- Architect and perform experiments to understand hardware impacts to plasma and diamond growth, specifically as it relates to microwave sources and components
Requirements
- At least 5 or more years of industry experience
- PhD in engineering or applied physics and expertise in high-power, microwave frequency systems
- Hands-on experience with RF/microwave equipment used in the test of microwave components and sources (VNAs, signal generators, diodes, etc.)
- Experience with high vacuum systems and plasma based devices
- Proficiency in a full-wave electromagnetic design tool (HFSS, CST MWS, or COMSOL) and proficiency with other circuit design/layout tools.
