Position Overview
The Remote Member Service Representative serves as a key point of contact for parishioners, new families, and community members. This role focuses on providing warm, accurate, and timely assistance related to parish memberships, registrations, scheduling, ministry involvement, and general parish information.
The ideal candidate is service-oriented, organized, empathetic, and capable of managing a variety of support tasks with professionalism — all while maintaining confidentiality and respect for parishioners’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to parishioners via phone, email, and online communication platforms
- Assist with new parishioner registrations and onboarding
- Maintain and update member data, family records, and ministry involvement information
- Respond to inquiries regarding sacraments, ministries, events, schedules, and parish services
- Assist members with sign-ups, forms, appointment scheduling, and resource requests
- Route inquiries to the appropriate staff, clergy, or ministry leaders when necessary
- Support digital communication efforts, such as sending confirmations and reminders
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of parish programs, procedures, and communication channels
- Help resolve member questions while providing exceptional, faith-rooted customer service
- Protect confidential parishioner information at all times
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in customer service, member services, front-desk, or administrative support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Warm, friendly demeanor with a commitment to hospitality
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing member records
- Proficiency with email, calendars, and cloud-based tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Reliable internet connection and personal computer
Preferred:
- Experience working in a church, nonprofit, school, or membership-based organization
- Familiarity with parish management systems (ParishSOFT, Realm, Flocknote, etc.)
- Understanding of Catholic parish life, ministries, and sacramental processes
- Experience with CRM databases or member-management tools
