Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 annually

This is a local or remote position. If you are in the central Illinois area, this role requires you to be in the Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.
As a Media Strategist, my objective is: 
To be a subject matter expert in the planning & execution of media campaigns for Simantel clients. Campaigns may consist of Traditional Media (Out-of-Home (OOH), Broadcast), and Digital Media (Programmatic Display & Video, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Media Marketing). 
The outcomes I need to produce for clients are: 

  • Campaign strategies that are designed to lead to success as defined by clients, stakeholders 
  • Insights and optimization recommendations on how to drive maximum effectiveness of media budgets once a campaign is launched 
  • A trusted advisor to the client for current and upcoming media channels, tactics and strategies based on building and maintaining client relationships 

 
The outcomes I need to produce for the agency are: 

  • Well-developed relationships within the media department as well as internal teams at Simantel 
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies that may be relevant to our clients 
  • Assist in leveling up knowledge of media strategy and buying best practices for agency 
  • Be comfortable and confident in client meetings when presenting media team outputs 

 
To produce these outcomes, I need to: 

  • Develop strong working relationships with the Strategy, Creative and Account teams. 
  • Stay in regular communication with other Media Strategists as well as Media Buyers. 

 
The skills and abilities I require are: 

  • 1-3 years of hands-on media strategy execution 
  • 1-3 years of hands-on media buying execution 
  • Strong writing, presentation, and storytelling skills 
  • Certifications from Google, Facebook and similar AdTech platforms 
  • Experience managing digital media campaigns across various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Ads with a strong emphasis on skills in programmatic advertising across leading Demand Side Platforms (DSPs). 
  • Proficiency with and knowledge of industry tools and systems for researching and managing digital media campaigns 
  • An eye for analytics and a keen understanding of reporting and analysis tools 

 
To produce these outcomes, I have decision-making authority over the following: 

  • Media Department deliverables sent to clients 
  • Say in final media campaign direction, including budget allocation, audience criteria and, channels/tactics 

 
Leading indicators of my success are:  

  • Timely and quality deliverables as requested by media team, account teams, and/or clients 
  • Media campaigns with performance at or above benchmarks 
  • Well-developed working relationship with media strategists, experience strategists and analytics team 


Long-term indicators of my success are: 

  • Build relationships with media vendors/partners as well as assist in evaluations of media tech stacks 
  • Media client retention & development 
  • Ability to train and mentor other buyers/strategists 
  • Assist in enhancing service offerings from the media team 
  • Leading large media projects and initiatives with little direction from leadership
