The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the mechanical design of precision hardware destined for flight, carrying work from first concept through deployment. This is a hands-on position in a very small engineering group, suited to someone who weighs how each design choice affects the wider system.
What you'll do
- Design and analyze electromechanical and fluid-handling assemblies, balancing mass, heat management and integration tradeoffs.
- Build quick physical prototypes with additive and subtractive methods to test and improve designs.
- Prepare 3D models, detailed drawings and supporting documentation that fabrication teams can work from.
- Collaborate with production partners on manufacturability reviews and hand designs over for building.
- Help assemble, integrate and verify complete flight-ready systems.

- Exposure to early-stage or startup engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- A systems view that considers mass, thermal behavior and cross-team interfaces.
- Practical skill with fast prototyping tools, including 3D printing and CNC machining.
- Strong understanding of plastics and polymer material behavior.
