Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern to join our Engineering team for Summer 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team focused on renewable energy innovation.
Position Overview:
The intern will support the mechanical design and development of renewable energy power electronics products. Responsibilities include ownership of defined subassemblies or components such as enclosures, mounting structures, thermal solutions, and mechanical interfaces.
Projects may involve:
Creating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T
Supporting thermal and structural analysis
Participating in design reviews
Assisting with prototype builds, testing, and design iterations throughout the product development lifecycle
Learning Objectives & Skills Development:
This role provides hands-on experience in mechanical product design for power electronics. The intern will gain experience in:
Advanced CAD modeling and GD&T application
DFM/DFA principles
Exposure to various manufacturing processes
Thermal and structural analysis
Cross-functional collaboration
Environmental and regulatory compliance considerations for renewable energy products
Qualifications:
Currently in final year or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Ability to commit to a 10–12-week internship beginning May 18, 2026 (Group 1) or June 15, 2026 (Group 2)
Availability to work full-time onsite in Fremont, CA
Compensation:
Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors. For California, the hourly rate ranges from $50–$70 per hour.
