Material Planner at a Glance:
The ideal candidate knows how to build vendor relationships, can manage multiple projects at the same time, is detailed, a great communicator and has a growth mindset. The Material Planner is responsible and will focus on our secondary packaging (i.e. labels, shrink film, and corrugated trays) with potential to assist with primary packaging (i.e. glass and caps). This role will also play an integral part in managing inventory control for all packaging and assist with the supply chain loss auction process for packaging and ingredients. As part of Primal Kitchen's Operations team, this role will work cross-functionally with our Innovation, Graphics, R&D, Inventory Control, External Manufacturers, and Receiving teams while directly interacting with our print & glass vendors to ensure deadlines are met. This desk will participate in planning meetings to stay informed on innovation and renovation projects, ensuring packaging deliveries meet all open project timelines.
The starting hourly wage for this role is $22.00/hr to $24.00/hr.
Location: Remote- must be able to work PST time zone.
Schedule: 7 am - 3:30 pm PST

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Maintain material components forecast sheet used for demand planning
- Coordinate to obtain all required data and ordering details including forecast, order quantities, and approval signatures for art proofs before going to print
- Create and submit purchase orders to vendors
- Manage on time delivery of purchase orders with each vendor and communicate timeline to relevant stakeholders
- Communicate in-transit orders to Receiving team for timely receipt in ERP system
- Participate in weekly and monthly planning meetings
- Upload packaging/ingredient details that are planned to be sold via Materials Auction process (supply chain loss/waste mitigation)
- Liaison between inventory control team and purchasing team to ensure SAP accurately reflects all packaging inventory volumes accurately
Qualifications:
- 2 years college experience-degree or certification preferred
- 1 year experience in a position within a related field
- Experience using an ERP system is required
- Intermediate experience level with Excel
- Experience using Microsoft365 and G-Suite apps
- Experience working with vendors
- Raw material handling
