Lead enterprise master data and data quality programs to ensure a single source of truth. Implement MDM processes (creation, matching, merging, syndication, retirement), deploy automated data quality frameworks and monitoring, conduct root-cause analysis and remediation, map metadata to catalogs, enforce governance and compliance, and lead a team while collaborating with IT, Data Engineering, Analytics and business stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Execute the Enterprise Master Data strategy to ensure a single source of truth across all KCB Group technology and platforms.
- Ensure the creation, maintenance, matching, merging, syndication, and retirement of master data across systems, ensuring data consistency, integrity and effective management of hierarchies and relationships.
- Collaborate with the Metadata Manager to ensure master data entities map accurately to enterprise data catalogs and business glossaries.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, business, and data governance requirements for master data.
- Data Quality Management
- Lead the institutionalization of Data Quality frameworks, defining metrics, KPIs, and thresholds (accuracy, completeness, consistency).
- Deploy automated continuous profiling and monitoring tools to proactively catch and flag data defects.
- Liaise with the Data Governance Team to assign data stewards and establish data quality issue escalation paths.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on data anomalies and execute remediation strategies with technical and business owners.
- Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Data Quality Analysts and MDM specialists.
- Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to implement robust, automated data cleansing and standardization processes.
- Embed a data quality mindset across bank business units.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate will meet the following minimum criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, Statistics or similar related field from a recognized university.
- Professional qualifications in data management or relevant quality management is an added advantage.
- At least five years' relevant working experience in data management in a similar sized organisation, including specific experience in the below areas:
- Master data management, preferably in financial services sector.
- Working with data quality frameworks and tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Deequ, Talend, Informatica, Collibra DQ, Ataccama).
- MDM platforms and data warehouse environments
- Working with python, SQL and data transformation tools
- Stakeholder management of diverse calibre and multi-cultural environments
- Core banking systems and/or CRM architectures will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of metadata concepts: business/technical metadata, data lineage, ontologies, glossaries, and catalog best practices.
- Strong knowledge of data protection and data security protocols.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
