Job Title
Markets & Investing Writer, InvestopediaJob Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives
Investopedia News is seeking a writer to cover markets and investing, a sprawling beat that’s vital to our ability to serve our smart and engaged readership of everyday investors.
We’re looking for someone who gets up each day eager to find interesting stories about money, markets and investing. You will cover topics including:
Market movements–in stocks and indexes, funds, commodities, crypto and beyond–and what they mean and why they matter
The big and obvious, as well as the small (or hidden) and important
The concepts, terms and themes investors are wrestling with and how to understand them
The people and ideas that matter–what they’re doing and why they’re interesting
Advice and tips to help people navigate complicated times
On a given day, you might write news, analysis or features–or contribute to our daily markets blog. Your ideas might come from data on a screen, corporate announcements, a conversation with a source, published research, or your own curiosity.
Some days, you might turn in several pieces. Other times, you might be working on a longer-term feature or something in between. You could produce articles, pieces based largely on charts, Q&As–or even things we haven’t thought of yet.
We’re looking for a clean, clear, accurate and reader-focused writer with piles of ideas and high ethical standards. Finally and most importantly, you’ll value teamwork, collaboration and collegiality. We love this stuff and we’re looking for someone who does too.
