Social Media Art Director:

We are looking for a Social Media Art Director to lead and build the social media team and oversee strategy and content for Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Tiktok and Youtube, fostering and maintaining a daily dialogue with the Ref community. The ideal candidate would have 6+ years in social media and proven experience in developing creative social partnerships and able to action bringing social-first concepts to life. You must be a strategic visual thinker and storyteller who is always making and reinventing. You have total mastery of  Art Direction and design with the know-how and skills to work hands-on, owning the social content process from ideation through to execution and responsible for the overall look and feel of social assets from conception to completion. You will be responsible for developing creative social campaigns in alignment with the Creative Director, and managing the execution of all creative work related to social media, ensuring it is produced on time, to the highest possible quality standards.

Ultimately, you will need to ensure we maintain a strong online voice and brand consistent with our marketing goals.You must be a self-starter who is able to bring your own ideas to life, as well as collaborate with other creatives to determine the best visual execution of a concept. You will also be an expert in the best practices and nuances of these platforms, as well as in producing work for different formats, including static images, deck design, videos and animations, GIFs, and more. You will have a deep knowledge and understanding of culture, as well as how social media platforms are used and the role they play in culture. You will always be strategizing with team members to conceptualize around insights and real-time moments as they happen.

What You'll Do: 

  • Develop and own the implementation of the overall social media marketing strategy and components to support 360 marketing plans that support weekly launches, monthly/quarterly stories, email acquisition and increase brand awareness and conceptualize new ideas + content series.
  • Conceptualize and develop compelling content that is original to each platform to drive engagement and build the brand lifestyle in the digital space.
  • Collaborate with internal teams – marketing, shoots, creative, e-commerce, merchandising, retail, etc. – to develop weekly, monthly and seasonal campaigns that are consistent cross-channel.
  • Stay abreast of key industry trends, competitive insights and emerging social media platforms.
  • Manage and direct a team of freelance video producers and photographers.
  • Participate in strategy meetings and partner with merchandising and marketing teams to
  • translate business strategy into creative concepts and through existing series and new ideas.
  • Ability to master the tone and identity of Reformation that translates to final video & photo content that is on-brand.
  • Generate clear ideas and produce concepts and executions created for digital media, with a focus on social media
  • Stay on top of social trends & best practices, specific to all major platforms
  • Ideate against specific-to-platform features (i.e., TikTok Duet, Instagram Stories, LinkedIn Stories, Twitter Blue)
  • Work directly with data team, to ensure constant & perpetual content optimization, as per current & emerging platforms, alongside their ever-evolving paid & organic formats.
  • Knowledge of paid social ad creative and organic creative specs
  • Ensure creative concepts deliver against the approved creative brief, as well as brand & product guidelines
  • Develop and manage all creative executions, including design and production across all platforms, incorporating consumer insights into the creative process and ensuring messaging consistency across all vehicles.
  • Take work from concept to final execution ensuring deliverables are on time and on budget.
  • Present completed ideas to team members & participate in status calls as needed
  • Mentor and encourage creative team members to foster a positive work environment
  • Ensure designs and content reflect consistently and positively the brand image and company ideals
  • Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions

What You'll Need: 

  • 6+ years experience in the social media space and a solid understanding of and actively engaged in using social media platforms (i.e.Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, TikTok)
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent preferred
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of advertising, marketing and digital media.
  • Well-versed in digital media and social media metrics and monitoring tools
  • Displays an understanding of the Reformation brand, our products, customer and mission
  • Experience in successfully concepting and managing strategic social marketing projects
  • Collaborative team-player
  • Strategic thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
  • Proactive problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles and also quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas and change course as needed.
  • Entrepreneurial – able to deal with ambiguity and work with little or no direction.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; detail-oriented.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to juggle priorities and multiple projects.
  • Can-do positive attitude and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach; personable and flexible with demands and changes in business.
