About the opportunity
We are seeking a Director of PR & Communications to join our rapidly growing company, and to build and execute a world-class communications strategy!
As our Director of PR & Communications, you will establish Ontra as the premier brand in contract automation and intelligence for asset managers via public relations, social media, and leading industry influencers. You will work closely with executive management and functional leaders to truly set Ontra apart as the leading tech-enabled alternative legal services provider. You will also have the opportunity to build out a public relations and social media team to assist in providing global public relations coverage.
The role will report directly to our Chief Marketing Officer.
What you’ll do
- Strategy: Build and execute a communication strategy, including company positioning, a public relations plan and social activation. Provide ongoing strategic recommendations to executive management and functional leaders to develop and sustain Ontra’s narrative.
- Public Relations: Manage the relationship with our global and regional PR agencies as well as with all media contacts.
- External Communications: Write and/or edit all news releases and public statements while maintaining high editorial standards. Act as an embedded reporter in the business, identifying and developing storylines that advance Ontra’s business objectives.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and address potential PR issues before they become external liabilities. Provide strategic counsel to the CEO and executive leadership team regarding reputational threats and opportunities. Proactively develop communication strategies and crisis management plans; establish a process to rapidly take action as needed.
- Metrics: Set quantitative and qualitative metrics and results to evaluate the effectiveness of communications strategies and ensure quality standards. Proactively seek, compile, and report on feedback from recipients, both internal and external. Be able to present results against deliverables.
What you’ll bring
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of progressive work experience as a Public Relations Director, PR Manager, or similar role
- Team Leadership: Past experience running a team, and proven ability to hire, develop and retain top tier PR talent
- Social Management: Expertise in managing a range of social networks, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
- Industry exposure: You have a background in public relations within the financial services, legal, or legal tech sectors and feel comfortable navigating key stakeholders within those industries
- Superb Communicator: Excellent communication and presentation skills and the confidence to serve as the company’s spokesperson
- Campaign and relationship management: Extensive experience coordinating successful PR campaigns as well as a history of fostering long-term relationships with media and industry influencers
- Proactive: You act without being told what to do, and frequently bring new ideas to the company.
- Creativity: Consistently able to generate imaginative and original ideas, and translate them into reality, particularly in writing.
- Attention to Detail: You deliver accurate, well-executed work consistently and ahead of deadlines
Colorado applicants only: The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $225,000. The total compensation package also includes benefits (as further detailed below) as well as unit-based compensation if applicable. Compensation for other locations may vary.*
