The Director of Global Marketing and Communications is responsible for managing and transforming BCG Digital Ventures' internal and external communications to amplify BCG Digital ventures unique culture & values, our global strategic priorities, and the diverse demands on our leaders and our employees as they craft and deliver game changing ventures that drive impact for the world’s most impactful corporate partners. This leader will develop a roadmap and strategy for global internal and external communications that aligns Digital Ventures' leadership, key stakeholders and 1000+ employees with what they need to know to deliver world-ventures, drive the business forward, inspire our staff to live our values, and to ensure clear, consistent and desired brand messages are being delivered to all corporate partners, internal stakeholders and employees.

This role will manage, build and provide leadership to the global marketing and communications team. In addition, this role will have primary responsibility for the management of the marketing and communications budget across initiatives, internal capabilities and vendors. You will work closely with our global leadership and Executive Committee team, Regional leaders, business/practice area leaders and the Digital Ventures recruiting team.

What you’ll do: Strategy + Teaming

  • Develop, Implement and monitor the execution of a global marketing strategy that supports DV’s business objectives, representative of its brand and talent
  • A global strategy which integrates activities across key marketing channels and builds a consistent and coherent image of the BCGDV brand with clear areas for the respective regions to participate and match their local marketing needs
  • Manage a global marketing budget reporting insights and recommendations with leadership, center leads, regional marketers, recruiters
  • Recruit, train, and retain highly qualified marketing and communications’ professionals for the global and regional teams
  • Measure and report against the success of various global marketing, communications and public relations programs and activities
  • Monitor new and trending Marcom trends 

What you’ll do: Messaging

  • Develop an internal communications plan that connects our Digital Ventures’ leaders and employees, engages them in our business, strategic priorities and mission and keeps them informed, engaged and inspired
  • Create a roadmap and content strategy to unify and standardize global internal communications; identify and build the best platforms and channels to share information and develop content strategy for each strategic
  • Develop guidelines/protocols/structures for communications across internal stakeholders, our regions, our Digital centers, and employees and recruits
  • Partner with BCGDV leaders to build employee understanding, excitement and support for global strategic initiatives such as new business offerings, IP investments, equity investments, and transformational people initiatives and themes
  • Help support Managing Partner and Executive Committee member/leader communications to leadership and all employees including content strategy and execution

What you’ll do: Media Relations

  • Coordinate media interests within the organization and ensure regular contact with target media
  • Cultivate and maintain influencer, business and trade media relationships across strategic imperatives for thought leadership
  • Guide appropriate responses to media events and inquiries
  • Work cross functionally with internal teams and external agencies to develop and execute marketing communications programs to help drive company goals (including executive communications, thought leadership by publishing bylined articles, select venture and client placement 

What you’ll do: Employer Branding

  • Work with the global people and operations teams refining DV’s Employee Value Proposition to ensure it appropriately represents DV’s unique values and mission as an organization and employer
  • Support the development of DV’s global Employer Branding strategy including positioning, messaging, strategic partnerships and opportunities to attract and retain talent across our six cohorts: Engineering, Product Management, Venture Architecture, Strategic Design, Experience Design, Growth and Talent. Additionally, identifying opportunities for the regional marketing and recruiting teams to deploy tactics suitable for their market, talent and unique expertise while maintaining the overarching brand and its values.
  • Work with the Recruiting and People Teams to help define and promote BCGDV’s value proposition and employer brand in partnership with firm leadership
  • initiatives and drive content for website and relevant social channels to target and recruit new talent
  • Develop communications strategy and outreach for Diversity and Inclusion initiatives

What you’ll do: Business Development

  • Highly focused, targeted marketing aimed at the Fortune 1000 globally, their CEO’s and N-1 direct reports. Focus on 8,000-10,000 key decision makers in the world that matter for our business
  • Select, facilitate and manage as appropriate at scale networking opportunities at Global Events like the World Economic Forum (Davos)
  • Help support and manage the interface between BCG Digital Ventures and BCG’s practice area leadership and infrastructure internally to optimize marketing of our capabilities to our internal sales channel
  • Ensure relationships with key organizations and event partners support overall communications and marketing strategy

Successful Directors of Global Marketing and Communications at BCGDV Possess:

  • 10+ years of integrated communications and marketing experience preferably in technology, venture capital, startups, partnerships, and or professional services preferred
  • Experience building out and internal communications and marketing organization in a larger organization
  • Marketing experience in venture launch / new product launch
  • Employee / recruiting marketing experience ideally for technology industry role profiles
  • PR and corporate event/networking management expertise - existing network of media partners and journalists bonus
  • Prior experience building new internal platforms and developing content strategies for intranet, Facebook@work, social media channels and career channels like Glassdoor, bonus
  • Deep understanding and experience managing digital and online channels, including corporate intranets, video and social media; awareness of and curiosity about new technologies and channels for communication
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and relationship skills
  • Change management experience
  • Board-level verbal and written communications skills
  • Global experience preferred
