About the Role

The Director of Consumer Insights will spearhead Sidecar Health’s ongoing effort to understand and deliver against changing consumer attitudes about healthcare and health insurance. This critical role will inform Sidecar Health’s marketing and product efforts, including current and future GTM initiatives. Reporting into the Senior Director, Brand Marketing, the role will manage outside specialist researchers and agencies on insights-related projects (e.g., customer segmentation, member satisfaction, awareness tracking, pricing research) and bring new outside marketing experts to the table when necessary.

What You'll Do 

  • Lead critical qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand the "why" behind consumer attitudes and decisions related to healthcare and health insurance
  • Develop consumer segments and personas for each major health insurance category: uninsured, ACA, Medicare, etc.
  • Manage ongoing longitudinal studies (brand tracker, customer satisfaction) and develop briefings and other ways to syndicate data to relevant Sidecar Health teams (e.g., marketing, product, leadership)
  • Work with various departments to create and execute ad hoc studies (or repurpose previous research) to answer critical, timely product and business decisions
  • Summarize information and share with key members of the company (marketing team, member care team, product team, executive leadership)
  • Serve as the credible, in-house expert when it comes to consumer attitudes
  • Manage a roster of specialized research firms and also be capable of designing and executing basic studies using online survey tools
  • Source and manage syndicated research, and summarize key findings for senior team members

What You'll Bring 

  • 6+ years experience in marketing research at a well-known company or marketing research firm
  • Deep understanding of quantitative marketing research techniques (e.g., conjoint studies, max-diff, segmentation, etc.)
  • Great presenter, ability to distill complex studies into simple findings, ability to share data and use data to make decisions
  • Comfort with both qualitative and quantitative marketing approaches
  • Good bench of third party research firms to help structure and conduct specific analyses
