Our Senior Manager, Communications will support the development and implementation of our integrated communication strategy, helping take our brand story to the next level. As an integral part of our Communications department, you will be working closely with our Sr Director Communications & Mission, CMO as well as colleagues in our marketing, social impact, partnerships and owned brand functions. As Thrive Market scales its brand building through PR, we'll look to you to manage day to day needs of our PR agency partner, support with executive media opportunities and more. This role will directly report into our Sr Director Communications & Mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Communications manager will support strategy build for all company and executive communications at Thrive Market
- Oversee day-to-day PR agency management, supporting editor relations and in-bound press inquiries
- Sr Director Communications will continue to oversee agency performance and objectives
- Drafting press releases for new product launches, UX upgrades/experiences, mission and sustainability initiatives and more
- Building relationships with media, key reporters and editors for business, trade and lifestyle storytelling across various categories including: beauty, food, grocery, technology and more. Including ownership and development of our media database
- Drafting executive talking points, briefing documents, monthly reporting, industry research and other various administrative tasks
- Ongoing, you will be expected to THINK BIG and act TENACIOUSLY in your approach to external communications, bringing strategic partnership ideas, influencer collaborations, creative collision concepts to the table for consideration
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate has 7+ years of communications experience; both agency experience and in-house experience at a high-growth startup is ideal, but not required
- Must have experience representing food, grocery or CPG brands
- Must have existing, strong relationships with the media
- You are ideally located in Los Angeles or New York
- Ability to develop, present, and execute clear communication strategies for brand’s mission, product launches, and crisis communication
- Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners/talent
- Strategic thinker with passion for developing and delivering big ideas that build an iconic, mission driven brand
- Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred
