THE ROLE
Golden Hippo is currently looking for a Brand Director who will be responsible for growing and leading a heath and wellness brand. This role consists of focusing simultaneously on growth of digital marketing, diversification of product categories and marketing channels and enhancing customer experience and engagement. This role will also manage both revenue and cost elements as well as oversee the brand's sales functions, branding and new channel initiatives.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Develop, execute, and be accountable for the overall business plan, strategy, and performance of the brand; set high-level business priorities & goals to drive brand performance
- Responsible and accountable for revenue, operating costs & overall profitability of the brand
- Grow and increase sales by leading the creation, optimization, & diversification of new customer acquisition campaigns
- Lead efforts to increase customer lifetime value via email sales, SMS, subscriptions, branded site optimization, remarketing, and other post-purchase channels
- Drive the innovation process of new products for the brand; ensure consistent & efficient pipeline of high-potential new products
- Lead reputation-boosting efforts including but not limited to social media, influencer/ambassador marketing, PR/media appearances, and brand partnerships
- Support retail team in leading exploration and expansion of retail business
- Develop a robust marketing plan & development roadmap for emerging food line
- Manage branding across all assets to ensure a cohesive user experience at branded touchpoints
- Develop comprehensive understanding of brand philosophy & literature
- Ensure effectiveness of all external partnerships, resources, agencies, & affiliates
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across all departments, utilizing existing services as appropriate
- Hire top talent as needed to achieve growth & performance objectives
- Performs other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field required
- 10+ years of brand management experience required
- Previous experience working with food and/or health and wellness/ dietary supplements
- Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
- Experience in a role directly accountable for high-level economic metrics
- Experience with OR ability to quickly learn fundamentals of performance media buying, copywriting, inventory management, product development, & other key functions as needed
- A strong sense of creativity and understanding of the creative process
- Project management capabilities. The ability to manage complex project work streams across multiple dimensions, with internal and external partners.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Self-starter, problem solver with strong ability to work independently
- Experience and knowledge in how to run multiple (100’s) of split tests across a variety of mediums
- Experience working with offline marketing, including but not limited to retail, TV, and other traditional brand marketing channels
- Be able to identify good design for website, packaging, etc.; ability to articulate what the brand image should be or already is
- Knowledge and understanding the fundamentals of direct response marketing
- Exceptional people management skills including hiring, training, delegation, and performance management
- Able and willing to learn with a can-do attitude.
