About the opportunity:

A mission critical role for S4 is the Associate Director, Media Strategy. In this role, you will be a point of contact for the media strategy/planning team in support of client goals, working closely with internal stakeholders and bringing strategies to life. You will contribute to our current clients and respond to new client RFPs, working across many verticals and categories. This is a role where you’ll partner with our strategy and execution teams, and many other teams around S4 to deliver the cutting edge solutions for our clients.

We are looking for an integrated media strategist and planner who has demonstrated:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, can articulate complex ideas, succinctly and accurately to senior executives.
  • The ability to translate client briefs into actionable media plans with measurable results.
  • Knowledge of brand and performance marketing principles and strategies.
  • The willingness to learn new skills in a quickly evolving environment.
  • The ability to manage planning inputs as well as ongoing competitive, marketplace, and post campaign reports - produce insightful, data-driven analysis, demonstrating the effectiveness of our planning.
  • The ability to inspire and lead a team. 
  • A “do whatever it takes to get the job done” attitude.
  • An openness to new ideas and the willingness to speak up and defend ideas of their own.
  • Comfort with proactively reaching out for help beyond their immediate team, to find the right resources and solutions to client problems.
  • A strong sense of humility and empathy for their client and their co-workers.

Your experience will include:

  • 6-8 years of integrated agency media planning experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of media fundamentals, both offline and online and how they work together.
  • Interfacing with clients, internal departments, and media partners on a daily basis.
  • Mentoring a team and the ability to motivate others to succeed.
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills, especially, the ability to think on your feet.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze raw data, identify true insight and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong work ethic – highly organized, diligent and attentive to detail.
  • A knack for unravelling complex problems and processes in an easy to understand way.
  • High energy and go getter attitude; comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Knowledgeable of current trends and innovations in media.
  • Knowledge of media planning and research tools.
  • Proficient in Google docs, slides, sheets or equivalent (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
