This role is part of our Advanced Shipping Manager  team, one of our growing brands at saas.group.

We created Advanced Shipping Manager (ASM) after witnessing online merchants struggle with accurately calculating shipping rates—a challenge costing them revenue, time, and customer trust.

Today, our powerful shipping calculation software serves leading online sellers across major e-commerce platforms, effortlessly handling complex shipping scenarios from temperature-sensitive deliveries to intricate regulatory requirements.

Join our innovative team in helping businesses thrive by eliminating shipping rate headaches.

Profile Overview

We are looking for a strategic and versatile Marketing Manager to pioneer our marketing function at ASM. As our first dedicated marketing hire, you'll have the exciting opportunity to build our marketing strategy from the ground up while gaining deep knowledge of our product, market, and competition.

You'll own the full marketing spectrum—from developing our strategic direction to hands-on execution across multiple channels. While collaborating with saas.group’s core marketing team, you'll have significant autonomy to shape ASM's marketing presence and drive growth in the SaaS e-commerce space.

If you're a marketing professional with SaaS experience who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and is ready to make a significant impact, this role offers the perfect blend of strategic leadership and practical execution.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify ASM's competitive positioning, audience segments, and growth opportunities
  • Formulate a data-driven marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives and resource constraints
  • Establish foundational marketing processes and begin implementing tactical initiatives to generate measurable results

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and own marketing strategy: Create a comprehensive marketing roadmap for ASM based on market research, competitive analysis, and business objectives. Identify the most effective channels and tactics to drive growth.
  • Lead channel execution and optimization: Take ownership of key marketing channels, determining the optimal mix for ASM's audience and objectives. Coordinate resources effectively to maximize impact within budget constraints.
  • Drive content strategy: Develop compelling content that resonates with our target audience, enhances our SEO position, and communicates our value proposition across various channels.
  • Build strategic partnerships: Identify and nurture relationships with agencies and partners who can become advocates for our solutions within their client networks.
  • Manage marketing analytics: Establish KPIs, track performance, and provide data-driven insights to optimize marketing efforts and demonstrate ROI.
  • Coordinate marketing resources: Work effectively with the CEO of ASM, saas.group central marketing team, and external freelancers to execute marketing initiatives efficiently.

What You bring to the table

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing strategy development and execution, preferably in SaaS
  • Demonstrated ability to build marketing initiatives from scratch and manage them effectively
  • Solid experience across multiple digital marketing channels
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating teams or freelancers
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and measure marketing impact
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

What’s in it for You

  • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
  • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.

Advanced Shipping Manager is part of saas.group and we have a shared goal of succeeding together.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
