The Opportunity

VidCon’s Marketing Manager leads the general marketing efforts for VidCon’s tentpole Anaheim event. This seasoned professional has extensive experience overseeing strategic, efficient, and breakthrough marketing campaigns tailored to driving ticket sales with an emphasis on social and digital. This person is responsible for developing and executing on strategic partnerships, email marketing, direction on marketing creative, the VidCon website, community management, and collaborating with a PR agency as communications functions within the larger scope of all marketing initiatives. This role works proactively and collaboratively to craft successful marketing campaigns that increase VidCon’s brand awareness amongst its key audiences, drive ticket sales, track the effectiveness of marketing methods, report relevant information after each campaign, and manage the marketing budget. Experience in a cross-functional, multi-faceted role is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic marketing plans for VidCon Anaheim to generate exposure, increase engagement, drive ticket sales, and grow audiences, optimizing all available platforms.
  • Primary point for all third-party media agencies, responsible for briefing the campaign, running weekly meetings, and understanding and communicating ongoing performance and how we are optimizing in real time.
  • Ensure that marketing goals, audience insights, industry landscape, and best practices are informing all campaign components.
  • Oversight of VidCon’s website in collaboration with the digital marketing team.
  • Ideate against and brief strategy, breakthrough marketing creative for all platforms.
  • Oversee the execution of VidCon’s email marketing as an integral component of the overall marketing mix, optimizing segmentation to increase click-through rates and drive ticket sales conversions, in conjunction with the digital marketing team.
  • Research and execute upon strategic partnerships and promotions that increase VidCon brand glow and event awareness driving ticket sales.
  • Assist the VP, VidCon, with the third-party PR partner.
  • Collaborate with VidCon’s Social Media Manager on content calendars and creative as they ladder up to the overall marketing campaign. Provide community management support on social media platforms.
  • Capture and communicate campaign plans for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain marketing budget, assisting with advertising buy planning, outreach, and execution ensuring media strategy plans align back to business targets and audience growth strategy.
  • Ensure all market-facing materials are on brand by partnering with the Creative team.
  • Liaise across internal VidCon teams to ensure marketing needs and timelines are being met.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing in-house or at an ad agency within entertainment or media. Experience in event marketing and/or ticket sales marketing is a huge plus.
  • Experience in overseeing comprehensive, multi-platform marketing campaigns, specifically as it relates to a consumer’s buying journey, with a priority on ticket sales conversion.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience setting KPIs, analyzing performance, and optimizing ROI.
  • Proficient in email marketing strategy and copy writing for a variety of audiences.
  • Solid understanding of all social media platforms and associated content management and analytics tools.
  • Comfortable leading cross-company efforts.
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

The pay range for this role is $55,000-$65,000
