About the role

As a Brand Marketing Intern at Grubhub, you'll be a key part of our brand team, helping to bring our marketing campaigns to life. You will primarily support our social and earned media teams, getting hands-on experience in building community and generating buzz. You'll also assist with projects in brand research and consumer insights to help us better understand our audience and measure what's working.

This role offers a great opportunity to learn how a full marketing department operates. You'll collaborate with teams across the marketing organization, including our in-house studio team, to see how big ideas are developed and executed from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Insights & Trend Analysis

  • Analyze trends in food, entertainment, sports, and pop culture to uncover key insights that drive strategic decisions and new opportunities for PR and social media.

Influencer & Media Relations

  • Identify and vet influencers and content creators, building a pipeline of talent that aligns with our brand and fuels successful campaign initiatives.

  • Draft and refine press releases, social media copy, and influencer materials.

  • Build targeted media lists using tools like Meltwater and social listening platforms like Talkwalker.

Content & Social Media Support

  • Assist in organic social content capture and facilitate deployment across our social channels.

  • Craft engaging captions that align with our brand voice.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Track media coverage and monitor brand sentiment across key channels.

  • Contribute to post-campaign reports by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Project & Production Coordination

  • Support studio and production teams with campaign asset organization.

  • Coordinate schedules with cross-functional departments and external vendors to ensure all project deliverables are met.

The experience you have

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and active use of major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook, with a keen understanding of platform-specific best practices and trends.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strong passion for the food and beverage industry, with a curiosity for emerging trends in culture, entertainment, and sports.

Base Salary: $36 per hour.

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if itworks for you.
