The Market Sales Representative is responsible for supporting our Business Development Sales team by identifying, qualifying, and closing local opportunities. This role is ideal for a sales professional who is ready to build strong prospecting, deal management, and customer engagement skills while contributing directly to revenue growth.

The Market Sales Representative will focus on sourcing and retaining local customers, managing inbound and outbound leads, and sales collaboration to ensure exceptional customer experience and drive business growth. This role plays a critical part in our go-to-market strategy by ensuring sales leads are properly qualified, followed up on, and either converted or advanced to the appropriate sales channel.

This role will help build the foundation for a sales professional who will want to advance their career in sales.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Proactively manage and follow up on inbound and outbound leads generated through Salesforce and other channels 

  • Qualify prospects based on defined criteria (budget, need, timing, decision-makers) and determine appropriate next steps 

  • Maintain accurate, timely updates in Salesforce to ensure visibility and pipeline integrity 

  • Prospect for new business and engage local market customers through outbound calls, emails, and targeted outreach 

  • Own deals from initial contact through close 

  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and position solutions accordingly 

  • Partner closely with the Business Development team to support larger or more complex opportunities 

  • Seamlessly hand off qualified opportunities that exceed deal size or complexity thresholds 

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales operations, and other internal stakeholders to improve lead quality and conversion 

  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline aligned with monthly and quarterly sales goals 

  • Track activity levels, conversion rates, and outcomes to continuously improve performance 

  • Meet or exceed individual sales and activity targets 

 

Requirements: 

  • 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, sales development, account management, or a related commercial role 

  • Experience working in a CRM environment, preferably Salesforce 

  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify leads, and close smaller deals 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage customers professionally and persuasively 

  • Highly organized with strong follow-up and time management skills 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment 

 

Preferred Skills & Attributes 

  • Hunter” mindset with a strong desire to build a sales career 

  • Coachable, curious, and motivated to learn the business and sales process 

  • Ability to balance independent work with strong team collaboration 

  • Experience supporting or partnering with a field or business development sales team is a plus 

  • Experience employing AI powered sales prospecting tools
