Our Values

If this sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role

Justworks is looking for a strategic, autonomous, and rigorous Market Researcher to join our Research & Insights team. In this role, you will lead end-to-end quantitative and qualitative research studies that directly shape our brand strategy, product positioning, and go-to-market planning on our mission to help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow with confidence.

As a Market Researcher, you will independently manage moderately complex, concurrent research streams, serving as a trusted partner to our marketing, product, and communications teams. You will fully own our customer research panel strategy, support our quarterly brand tracking operations, and champion data storytelling to ensure our cross-functional partners can confidently act on consumer insights. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an insights professional with solid agency-side training to drive visible impact in a fast-growing tech environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Panel Strategy & Execution: Drive the long-term execution and scaling of our customer research panels. You will lead custom panel portal management, oversee participant experience standardizations, and spearhead recruitment initiatives to hit clear growth milestones.
  • Support Brand Tracking Operations: Support our Brand Tracker, including management of questionnaire updates and sample target management. You will own data hygiene, manage change orders through procurement, and run comprehensive quality checks on fielding data.
  • Lead Thought Leadership Research Execution: Drive the end-to-end execution of our thought leadership research in partnership with Communications and external research vendors. You will oversee research fielding and vendor management, lead rigorous quality control to ensure data is accurate and publication-ready, and partner with our Lead Market Researcher to bring our thought leadership research strategy to life.
  • Drive Ad & Content Testing Cycles: Act as the primary research partner to our brand team and creative agency. You will, with support from our Senior Market Researcher, independently scope, execute, and synthesize fast-paced concept testing cycles (V1 and V2) to guide campaign briefs and media investments.
  • Synthesize Insight & Support Narratives: Partner directly with marketing leadership to deliver ongoing narrative and data-storytelling support for always-on investments. You will look beyond basic statistics to deliver quarterly brand report hygiene checks, bi-annual competitor benchmarking, and "one-pager hit lists" that translate complex data into executive-ready recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing Ops, Product Marketing (PMM), and Data Analytics to integrate research data into broader dashboards and cross-functional planning calendars.
  • Uplift the Craft: Help shape the internal infrastructure of the research team. You will design reusable research frameworks, optimize ResearchOps workflows, and provide light mentorship and peer review to junior level team members. You will participate in data governance groups and peer learning sessions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in applied market research, consumer insights, or a related field. A proven track record at a research agency running tracking studies or panel workflows is highly preferred.
  • Methodological Expertise: Proficient in mixed methods. You possess a strong background in quantitative execution (survey design, sampling, and advanced data cleaning) paired with the qualitative skills required to conduct interviews or message-testing facilitation.
  • Technical Mastery: Hands-on, advanced proficiency with survey platforms such as Qualtrics for survey programming, workflow design, and data cleaning. Experience with additional research platforms like Great Question and modern data systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong Communication: Strong data storytelling and synthesis capabilities. You don't just hand over data points; you craft clear, relevant deliverables tailored to stakeholder needs that connect research directly to business outcomes.
  • Autonomy & Complexity: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, running projects autonomously with some coaching, and managing multiple timelines.
  • Future-Ready Mindset: Organized, process-driven, and actively engaged with how AI literacy and emerging tools are reshaping modern research operations.

In addition, all Justworkers focus on aligning their behaviors to our core values known as COGIS. It stands for:

  • Camaraderie - Day to day you can be seen working together toward a higher purpose. You like to have fun. You’re an active listener, treat people respectfully, and have a strong desire to know and help others.
  • Openness - Your default is to be open. You're willing to share information, understand other perspectives, and consider new possibilities. You’re curious, ask open questions, and are receptive to thoughts and feedback from others.
  • Grit - You demonstrate grit by having the courage to commit and persevere. You’re committed, earnest, and dive in to get the job done well with a positive attitude.
  • Integrity - Simply put, do what you say and say what you'll do. You’re honest and forthright, have a strong moral compass, and strive to match your words with your actions while leading by example.
  • Simplicity - Be like Einstein: “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.”

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $121,000.00 to $151,000.00 per year.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
