Job Title: Market Fundamentals Intern 

Department: Commercial 

Reports to: Director, Market Strategy & Fundamentals 

Effective Date:  Summer 2026 

Location: Remote 

Travel: Up to 10% 

POSITION PURPOSE:    

This is a temporary, non-exempt position reporting to the Director, Market Strategy & Fundamentals. The Market Fundamentals Intern will be responsible for conducting energy market data analysis and research in support of KCE’s market fundamentals function. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Organizing and processing energy market data across a variety of formats and platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Orennia ION, FERC EQR) 

  • Supporting data analysis and interpretation of key trends 

  • Assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint slide decks and research presentations 

  • Contribute to the creation and updates of price and revenue curves 

  • All other duties as required 

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Familiarity with U.S. power and gas markets a plus 

  • Advanced data analysis skills in Excel and similar formats 

  • Coding ability (e.g., SQL, Python) a plus 

  • Familiarity with nodal analysis software (e.g., DAYZER) a plus 

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer
