Job Description/Responsibilities

Join us as a key partner to customers across your market, helping grow Sazerac’s diverse portfolio of spirits brands and achieve volume and distribution goals. Depending on your experience, strengths, location, and business needs, you may support a mix of on-premise accounts; such as restaurants and bars or off-premise accounts; including grocery, convenience, and liquor stores. Each day in your territory brings new opportunities to build customer relationships, grow our brands, and connect consumers with their favorites.

 

Your day-to-day schedule may vary based on the customers and accounts you support:

  • Chain Accounts: Days may begin as early as 6:00–7:00 a.m. to align with buyer and decision-maker availability.
  • Independent Accounts: Schedules are generally closer to traditional business hours, with flexibility to support occasional customer events, activations, or other business needs outside of those hours.

 We’ll consider your experience, skills, location, and business needs when determining the route and account mix that best aligns with your strengths.


What You'll Be Doing:

As a Market Development Representative, you and your team will play a pivotal role in our success story. The role involves:  

  • Crafting Solutions for Growth: Implement and manage innovative solutions to boost business for assigned accounts, ensuring Sazerac brands soar in market share.  
  • Brand Building: Use consumer and category trends as your toolkit to educate customers, solve challenges, and skyrocket sales – building brands is an art.  
  • Distribution: Lead distributors with in-store selling, marketing, and account execution.  
  • Volume Objectives: Help achieve volume objectives for the core brands in our diverse portfolio.  
  • Strategic Programs: Implement and execute programs that deliver on distribution, merchandising, display, and retail promotional goals – turning plans into results.  
  • Rapport Building: Develop mutually valuable rapport with assigned customers by understanding their needs and requirements.   
  • Communication & Collaboration: Take center stage as the communication lead between key customers, wholesalers, and our internal dream team. 
  • KPI Monitoring: We track established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure we consistently reach our goals.  
Qualifications/Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years in customer or distributor management
  • On-Premise and Off-Premise sales experience
  • Market development and sales analysis experience  

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for an extended period of time  
  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 35lbs without assistance 
  • Ascend or descend stairs  
  • Ability to drive and visit multiple accounts in one day 
  • Strong communication skills

The annual salary range for this role is $64,900.00-$110,600. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal pay equity considerations. Roles within our Commercial and Sales team may be eligible for additional compensation, such as car allowance, cell phone reimbursement, commissions, and/or annual bonuses. Please ask your recruiter for more details about the total package for your role.
