Engagement Summary

Wilson Language Training is preparing for an exciting new product launch, and we're looking for a market development professional to help us hear directly from educators as we bring it to market. In this contract role, starting immediately and running through mid-June 2027, you'll connect our Product and Product Marketing teams with the customers whose feedback will shape both the product and how we introduce it. You'll recruit and support educators across product testing and research activities, help bring our customer summit to life, and turn educator insights into direction that guides the launch, drives product adoption, and improves customer outcomes. If you enjoy building customer relationships and turning feedback into direction, this role is for you.

Scope of Work

  • Recruit customers to take part in product feedback opportunities, including product testing, content reviews, and feedback sessions on product vision and rationale.
  • Manage participant outreach, scheduling, communications, and follow-up to keep engagement strong throughout each feedback activity.
  • Recruit attendees for a customer summit and support its planning and execution, including capturing feedback on the product and how we position it in the market.
  • Support market research, including surveys and focus groups, that informs how we position and message the product.
  • Analyze feedback and research results with the Product and Product Marketing teams to identify key trends, gaps, and areas that need more input.
  • Turn findings into clear summaries and recommendations that support product development and go-to-market planning.
  • Keep organized records of participants, activities, and feedback across projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on recruiting needs and timelines.
  • Deliver against agreed timelines and report status regularly to the Director of Product Marketing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in market development, customer research, customer engagement, or a similar role.
  • Experience in the K–12 education market strongly preferred; existing relationships with educators or school leaders are a plus.
  • Experience recruiting and managing participants for research studies, pilots, or beta programs.
  • Experience planning and running surveys and focus groups.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends in qualitative and quantitative feedback and turn them into clear takeaways.
  • Experience planning or coordinating customer-facing events.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and participant groups at once.
  • Available to start immediately and commit through mid-June 2027.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
