The Marine Operations Manager will lead a team responsible for the oversight, operation, maintenance, and integration of Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) assets within Anduril custody. This role requires a strong background in maritime operations and marine maintenance, extensive experience with maritime systems, and knowledge of maritime regulations. The ideal candidate will manage test operations, oversee vessel maintenance activities, supervise system installations, and lead USV operations during test events, including serving as a Safety Remote Control operator.
What You'll Do- Lead and mentor a team of Marine Operations Technicians responsible for USV maintenance, installations, and operations
- Oversee the integration of new hardware and software components into both new and existing USV platforms
- Manage maritime test operations and evaluate USV system performance to develop strategies for improvement
- Lead the 3M (Maintenance and Material Management) program for the companies USV assets
- Support the periodic maintenance and repair of USV assets, ensuring operational readiness for test events
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure test requirements are met and align with project goals
- Provide technical guidance and maritime operations expertise to team members
- Lead USV Test Operations as a Safety Remote Control operator, ensuring vessel readiness, creating mission profiles, and adhering to maritime safety protocols
- Develop standard operating procedures for USV operations and maintenance activities
- Proven experience in maritime operations and marine systems maintenance
- Strong background in managing teams responsible for vessel operations and maintenance
- Experience with maritime electronics, navigation systems, and propulsion systems
- Knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures
- Proficient in using computer terminals (e.g., Linux)
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies as applied to maritime platforms
- Experience with hardware integration, including interfacing sensors, actuators, and other peripherals on marine vessels
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools for maritime systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in maritime environments
- Availability to work extended hours and travel to test locations as required
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain required security clearances
- Experience with autonomous or remotely operated surface vessels
- Maintenance and Material Management (3M) qualified
- Background in naval operations, maritime security, or relevant military experience
- Merchant Mariner Credential or equivalent maritime certification
- Understanding of vessel performance and maritime data analysis
- Experience with scripting languages for maritime system automation
- Familiarity with version control systems
- Experience with embedded systems in maritime applications
- Knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks for marine systems
- Prior experience in defense industry program management
