Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Manufacturing Specialist. This position is located at our plant in Torrance, CA.

 

Primary Purpose:  The Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for optimizing and improving operational processes. This role involves analyzing current procedures, designing new frameworks, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyzing and improving current business processes
  • Creating efficient and effective procedures to streamline operations.
  • Gathering and analyzing data to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with departmental heads to understand process requirements
  • Identifying and addressing issues within the manufacturing process.
  • Effectively communicating findings and recommendations to management.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of operational workflows
  • Identify areas of waste and propose cost-saving measures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of process changes
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Evaluate and recommend suppliers

 

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in data analysis and process mapping tools relevant to manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in industrial or manufacturing function
  • Experience in production planning and cost control
  • Portfolio or proven track record of successful process improvement projects
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work on site in Torrance, California. Remote work not considered.

 

Benefits/Salary:

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. Howmet Aerospace curates a strong working environment through opportunities for career progression, community engagement activities, and flexible schedules contingent upon role and location.  The salary range for this position is $80k-$138k.
