HYPEBEAST is looking for a Managing Editor to join our print team, who will be responsible for both strategy planning and the day-to-day operational execution of our print print projects. In addition to overseeing the overall content and quality of the print publication, this position also requires someone with an in-depth understanding of the best practices for each digital channel who can devise creative strategies to build online traffic, increase engagement and drive digital users to .com from the print product and vice versa. In addition to editorial duties, this person will also be responsible for working closely with the editorial, social and sales team heads to ensure all content is aligned with company strategies and goals. This candidate will be instrumental in taking the publication to the next level.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the production and publication of HYPEBEAST print projects.
- Supervise team and provide insight to improve efficiency to ensure projects are consistently delivered in a timeline manner.
- Build and manage a freelance network of writers, stylists, and photographers to collaborate with.
- Establish industry contacts to enhance the quality of both print and online content.
- Review final magazine pagination and product, including proofreading for all pages before going to press.
- Work closely with Creative, Editorial and Sales teams to implement, coordinate and execute all marketing communications strategies.
- Lead the hiring process and manage the expansion of the team.
- Assist in planning the marketing budget and ensuring effective cost control and spending.
- Develop business strategies that align with company objectives and goals.
- Analyze metrics and data to create and implement programs and tools that increase sales and brand profile.
- Work closely with HYPEBEAST HQ to ensure company alignment, and produce weekly reports to recap the developments and progress of content and the team.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of print publishing, editorial content creation and distribution.
- Proficient in MS Office software, and experience with WordPress.
- Passion, energy, and enthusiasm for editorial content and the various categories that HYPEBEAST covers, especially in Fashion and Footwear.
- Expertise in editing and packaging articles for a website.
- Proven track record in driving sales and business strategies across various distribution channels.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail, for working in a fast-paced environment with high level of teamwork.
- Experience in managing teams across global regions and time zones.
- Strong relationships with a network of freelance writers, stylists and industry experts.
