An opportunity to make an impact and play a key role in the growth of a top financial publisher. We are hiring a Managing Editor to join our team to help drive traffic and subscriptions to the global websites affiliated with Benzinga.com. 

As a Managing Editor for Benzinga’s web content in Asia and Europe,  you will have a direct hand in creating and distributing stories seen by millions of readers and impacting the industry as a whole.  If you are a financial news junkie who knows how to generate traffic and target critical audiences, we want to talk to you. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a worldwide team of translators and reporters during local hours, targeting earnings, economic news, M&A, IPOs and analyst commentary.
  2. Ideate new story types and topics that will resonate with our audience 
  3. Utilize traffic analytics to make informed decisions about news coverage and feature content.
  4. Engage with and acquire new sources to uncover and publish exclusive and unique commentary on investment opportunities. 
  5. Collaborate with Managing Editors across the globe to strategize on high performing content
  6. Oversee product and page development, including liaising with multiple departments and stakeholders

The experience you need:

  1. Minimum 7 years experience at a digital publication, preferably in the financial media sector.
  2. Minimum 5 years as an editor
  3. Minimum of 3 years in people management, including mentorship of new journalists
  4. Knowledge of the world of finance and politics
  5. Expert command of best practices in news writing, story building,  AP Style, journalism principles, copyright law and ethics. 
  6. Ability to produce short- and long-form stories as necessary.
