JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News Digital is seeking a Managing Editor of Entertainment to grow entertainment coverage across FoxNews.com.  This is a data-driven leadership role that requires sharp editorial judgment, deep familiarity with the Fox News brand, and a proven ability to deliver stories that resonate with our audience. Coverage spans celebrities, scandals, crimes, courts, lawsuits, real estate, royals, country music, and cultural trends both inside and outside Hollywood.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Entertainment vertical 

  • Manage and mentor editors to deliver compelling stories

  • Drive breaking news coverage

  • Lead editorial strategy for original and exclusive content

  • Plan coverage around major events and shows (awards, festivals, premieres, cultural moments)

  • Identify areas of opportunity for original reporting inside and outside Hollywood

  • Strategize plan for staff to develop broad sources

  • Innovate by integrating AI systems (ChatGPT and other emerging tools) into editorial workflows

  • Use data (Chartbeat, Google Analytics, SEO insights) to inform editorial strategy and allocate resources effectively

  • Participate in high-level strategic conversations around content, growth, and audience development

  • Ensure the team optimizes headlines, story framing, and content distribution based on performance metrics

  • Collaborate with Audience Development and Social Media teams to expand reach and engagement

  • Collaborate with Photo Department to deliver compelling visual content, including purchasing photos and assigning photographers to notable events

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 7+ years of newsroom experience, with at least 3 years in editorial management

  • Strong knowledge of the Fox News brand and the celebrities, stories, and cultural topics that engage its audience

  • Proven track record overseeing entertainment coverage that includes breaking news, courts, trials, as well as exclusives and enterprise reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to lead with a data-first mindset, using analytics and SEO to grow audience and engagement

  • Proficiency in analytics platforms (Chartbeat, Google Analytics) and SEO strategy

  • Experience utilizing AI tools to improve editorial processes

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Possess a competitive spirit in a fast paced, high pressure newsroom

  • Embrace an on-call mentality and be prepared to work outside of shift in emergency or breaking news 

  • Eager to network out of the office to build sources

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $167,000.00-215,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
