Job Description

This role involves leading client relationships by providing expert accounting guidance, overseeing financial processes, and ensuring timely and accurate deliverables. It requires strong collaboration within a team environment, including mentoring, supervising staff, and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, the position includes managing audits, tax filings, budgeting, and client onboarding while identifying opportunities for service expansion and maintaining high-quality client service.

What you’ll do

  • You will lead client relationships by serving as the primary contact, offering accounting guidance, and ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • You will oversee financial reporting, audits, tax filings, and fee calculations, ensuring compliance with fund documents and accounting policies
  • You are responsible for evaluating and improving financial processes, managing client onboarding, and aligning expectations using best practices
  • You’ll manage billing, monitor engagement economics, supervise direct reports, and identify opportunities to expand services across IQEQ segments
  • You’ll foster a collaborative team environment through mentoring, training, and active participation in meetings and departmental initiatives

  • The salary for this position will be dependent on experience and location ($170,000-$240,000).

 

Qualifications

  • You are located in San Francisco or Los Angeles, CA metro areas 
  • You bring 15+ years of experience in alternative investment management (hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, or real estate), along with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an active CPA license
  • You have deep expertise in fund accounting and financial reporting, ideally with some in-house experience
  • You excel at managing multiple client engagements while maintaining strong attention to detail and multitasking effectively
  • You’re proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with tools like QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, NetSuite, and Sage
