The Opportunity:

HKA is accepting inquiries from qualified professionals interested in joining as a Managing Director, which serves as a strategic pathway to future equity Partner opportunities. Managing Directors at HKA play a critical role in driving client success, business growth, and leadership within our Government Contract Claims and Disputes Consulting practice.

Government contractors operate within one of the most highly regulated and closely scrutinized business environments, facing increasing complexity across compliance, audits, investigations, disputes, claims, pricing, and procurement matters. HKA helps contractors navigate these challenges through a combination of deep regulatory expertise, practical industry experience, and multidisciplinary support.

Our Government Contracting team advises clients across the full lifecycle of federal contracts and grants, including:

  • Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs), claims, and appeals

  • Bid protests and procurement disputes

  • False Claims Act, defective pricing, and other investigations

  • Prime contractor and subcontractor disputes

  • DCAA and DCMA audit support and rebuttals

  • Cost accounting, FAR, CAS, and compliance matters

  • Business systems, internal controls, and risk management

  • Expert witness and litigation support services

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will bring expertise in government contract disputes, claims and litigation support, compliance and regulatory advisory services, cost accounting and pricing matters, forensic accounting, investigations, audit support, and expert witness engagements.

In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Established client relationships and strong market credibility within the Government Contracting sector

  • Proven success developing and growing client accounts and service offerings

  • Experience leading complex consulting engagements and multidisciplinary teams

  • A track record of originating new business and driving revenue growth

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing financial performance

  • Experience supporting litigation, arbitration, investigations, or administrative proceedings

  • The leadership capability to mentor, develop, and grow high-performing teams
