Netflix Houses are our permanent, always-on, constantly refreshable entertainment venues, where guests can step into their favorite stories. We want these experiences, along with dining and merchandise offerings, to help promote love for our titles so they become part of the zeitgeist for longer periods of time and drive long-term value for Netflix.
This specific role, Touring Manager - Attractions, will be focused on building an in-house touring team, and managing all moves of Netflix House attractions from one location to the other. Moves include load-out, trucking, load-in, set up, install and training. We will start touring shows in mid 2025 and will move about 4 attractions per year from then on. Your role will be to develop a touring strategy, hire an experienced in-house team, supervise the moves, hire local labor and vendors, and coordinate with the Netflix House teams.
What you will do:
Build on the current touring plan, bring in your own expertise and create a cohesive touring strategy for our attractions
Build an in-House touring team, consistent of you, a Logistics Manager, a coordinator as well as technical and show set support roles
Research and build a network of third party vendors (logistics, technical, fabrication, etc.) to support the touring strategy
Build strong local connections with unions and crew to support on-site work for load-out and load-in/install
Coordinate with the local Netflix House team leads and develop R&R between your and the Netflix House teams
Support each move on the ground to ensure smooth operation
You will be responsible for the master touring budget and schedule, assuring you stay on track, anticipate overages/delays and take appropriate actions to mitigate them
Work on optimizing move costs. Clearly understand learnings and adjust accordingly to make the moves as cost and time efficient as possible
Work with the attractions production team to optimize builds for new attractions and strategize on how to manage equipment, scenic, props, etc.
Build Netflix internal cross-functional partnerships with departments like logistics, shipping, assets, etc.
Communicate your approach to the wider cross functional teams and find alignment
Write regular recap reports on key aspects of the production
What we need from you:
Demonstrated, 10+ years of experience touring shows and attractions
Strong knowledge of both permanent and temporary live immersive experiences and/or story-driven attractions, with an emphasis on touring attractions
Strong knowledge and recent experience of managing touring teams, vendors, union crews and touring vendors
Strong knowledge of union rules and regulations
Strong knowledge of permitting processes for touring and permanent shows
Experience managing vendor relationships from RFP, design, load out, load in and installation
Strong ability to manage an in-House touring team and identifying and addressing shortcomings
Ability to give candid and relevant feedback to keep team performance at the highest level
Ability to make difficult (yet informed) decisions, always in the best interest of Netflix
Ability to keep many plates spinning, staying close to the details but never losing sight of the bigger picture. Comfortable being a strong leader who can set a larger context for the team as well as being very hands-on
Ability to travel to onsite locations with extended stays on site during load out and load in
Strong desire to find creative solutions to problems and realize problems always have more than one solution
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and digitally
Excellent organizing skills using digital tools and google suite
Be a “swiss army knife” when it comes to knowledge of the LBE industry
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $175,000-$325,000.
