The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and administration of compensation, benefits, payroll, and wellness programs. This role ensures market competitiveness, legal compliance, and alignment with business goals. The manager partners closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver a strong employee experience, drive operational excellence, and support enterprise-wide total rewards initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compensation Administration & Management | 60%
- Leads compensation benchmarking, job evaluations, and salary structure updates for North America and India. Supports European compensation programs as needed.
- Manages base pay and variable pay compensation program design, analysis and administration, as well as supporting global and executive plans.
- Ensures FLSA compliance for U.S. roles and advises on structure changes.
- Leads enterprise-wide compensation planning processes and compensation policy effectiveness.
- Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures; recommends plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
- Partners with HRBP and business leaders on designing and pricing any organizational structure changes.
- Manages the external compensation survey process and survey subscriptions.
- Leads ad-hoc enterprise-wide compensation & job framework projects.
Benefits Management | 20%
- Oversees benefit, retirement, and wellness programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, etc.).
- Reviews plan documentation, vendor coordination, and benefit changes with carriers, consultants, and fiduciary partners.
- Partners with the Total Rewards Analyst on leave programs, filings, audits, and employee support.
- Leads plan design, implementation, communication, and cost analysis to maintain competitiveness and compliance across all locations.
- Partners closely with outside Benefits Consultant/Broker to Manage employee benefits programs, develop specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans, manage implementation of approved new plans ensure plans are administered according to service level agreements and the appropriate customer service is being provided to plan participants.
Payroll Management | 20%
- Oversees end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Partners with Finance and People Technology teams to audit and reconcile payroll data, resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax reporting and filings.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives to streamline payroll processes and enhance employee experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years in Human Resources and 2+ years of people leadership.
- Strong experience in benefits administration, compliance, and project/process management.
- Interest in partnering with global colleagues requiring flexibility working across multiple time zones.
- Ability to travel up to 25% annually.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Macros).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Skilled in vendor management, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), and program implementation.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record maintaining confidentiality.
The compensation for this role is: $109,700- $146,200 plus bonus
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
