Position Purpose:

Manages daily operations in the department responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure.

Ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the organization.

Monitors systems performance and provides recommendations as required.

  • Leads and supervises activities to plan, design, build, install, and monitor servers, virtualization environments, and server infrastructure such as Active Directory, monitoring and administration systems and other supporting technologies

  • Oversees budgets and implements new technologies as needed

  • Provides technical support and guidance in troubleshooting critical risks related to hardware/software problems and drives continuous improvement of products and processes

  • Oversees an on-call function to provide 24/7 response to critical issues.

  • Develops deep understanding in technical domain and demonstrates thought leadership in emerging areas

  • Shares regular reporting on status updates to senior management

  • Collaborates with external parties for IT procurement and vendor related IT issues

  • Works with internal stakeholders (product team, senior management, etc.) which contribute to technical strategy and recommend industry best practices

  • Mentors and guides staff

  • Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conducts performance reviews, provides leadership, technical guidance, and coaching to systems engineers

  • Shares knowledge and develops staff to strengthen understanding of system engineering, business issues, and best practices

  • Develops and communicates organizational objectives; inspire and motivate team members to achieve results

  • Maintains and shares SLA and metrics for services provided

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following skills are desired.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Cloud Computing platform

  • Experience with Other: systems management, network management, and systems integration

  • Experience with one or more of the following Other: infrastructure monitoring tools, service management tools, automation frameworks and/or shell scripting

  • Strong understanding of data protection, access controls, zero-trust frameworks, and tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, DLP, and audit logs 

  • Skills in migrating legacy systems to modern cloud platforms and integrating disparate collaboration tools (e.g., Box, SFTP, Skype) into unified environments

Soft Skills:

  • - Ability to lead/manage others

  • - Collaboration and team building skills

  • - Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback

  • - Instills commitment to organizational goals

  • - Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management

  • - Effective conflict management skills

Pay Range: $100,900.00 - $186,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
