A Career at HARMAN
As a technology leader that is rapidly on the move, HARMAN is filled with people who are focused on making life better. Innovation, inclusivity and teamwork are a part of our DNA. When you add that to the challenges we take on and solve together, you’ll discover that at HARMAN you can grow, make a difference and be proud of the work you do every day.

A Career at HARMAN Lifestyle

We’re a global, multi-disciplinary team that’s putting the innovative power of technology to work and transforming tomorrow. As a member of HARMAN Lifestyle, you connect consumers with the power of superior sound.

  • Contribute your talents to high-end, esteemed brands like JBL, Mark Levinson, and Revel
  • Unite your passion for audio innovation with high-tech product development
  • Create pitch-perfect, cutting-edge technology that elevates the listening experience

About the Role

You will own the end-to-end supply planning process—balancing cost, service, capacity, and risk across the network—while modernizing how planning gets done through automation, AI/ML, and self-service analytics (Power BI/Qlik). You’ll lead a team of planners, partner tightly across S&OP/IBP, interfacing with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, and deliver exception-driven, scenario-based plans and decision-ready dashboards that improve service and inventory simultaneously.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and coach a team of supply planners—elevate capabilities through structured inquiry, problem-solving, and continuous improvement rituals.
  • Lead the monthly S&OP/IBP supply review; align inventory and service targets and convert S&OP decisions into executable supply and deployment plans.
  • Drive exception-based, scenario planning—codify planning rules, alerts, and ‘what-if’ simulations for supply disruptions (e.g., materials scarcity, capacity constraints).
  • Lead the roadmap for APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) capabilities (e.g., SAP IBP Response & Supply), including data model, parameters, and process design.
  • Partner with Data/IT to implement AI/ML-enabled supply planning processes (moving toward touchless supply planning where appropriate), with clear human-in-the-loop governance.\
  • Lead the team in building predictive & scenario visuals (e.g., risk to stock out, lead-time risk, capacity bottlenecks) with explainable drivers and ‘what-if’ inputs.
  • Standardize reporting cadences and automate data refresh/pipelines from ERP/APS to BI, reducing manual reporting time.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Demand, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Commercial) to synchronize plan/execute and enable fast mitigation when signals shift.
  • Champion an augmented, connected workforce—upskilling planners to work effectively with digital tools and AI assistants.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor's in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related; 7+ years in supply/supply-demand planning with leadership experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with at least one APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) platform (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis Rapid Response, Blue Yonder ESP, o9), including scenario modeling and exception management.
  • Strong analytics: advanced Excel plus Power BI and/or Qlik for KPI dashboards; able to translate data into decisions for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience integrating supply planning data (capacity, lead times, inventory policies, exceptions) with financial metrics to clearly link supply decisions to outcomes such as DOH, working capital, and COGS in Power BI/Qlik.
  • Practical experience in root cause analysis using tools, A3PS, 8D, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Fishbone, Pareto, 5Y, Is-Is not, Cause and Effect, etc.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent.
  • Experience integrating ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle) with APS and BI; familiarity with SQL/DAX or light scripting (Python) for analytics is a plus.
  • Experience partnering with FP&A or Operations Finance to translate supply/demand scenarios into P&L, cash flow, and capital impacts.
  • Exposure to control tower/decision intelligence and agentic AI concepts for supply chain.

.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to travel 15-20% globally.
  • Willingness to work in an office.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

What We Offer

  • Flexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work globally for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer location
  • Access to employee discounts on world-class Harman and Samsung products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, etc.)
  • Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University
  • Competitive wellness benefits
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • “Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards program
  • An inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
