About Us:
Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.
What you’ll be doing:
We're looking for a Manager, Special Projects to join our Business Operations team and lead the most complex, highest-ambiguity initiatives facing the business. Our Special Projects team operates with a consulting-style model — you'll lead a small, high-performing team and own cross-functional initiatives and projects that span strategy and execution. You'll scope problems, diagnose root causes, develop recommendations, and drive structured delivery — while also managing and developing your team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnose complex business challenges through rigorous research, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews; develop clear, MECE recommendations for senior leadership.
- Scope ambiguous problems independently; build frameworks, project plans, and accountability structures that drive aligned execution.
- Independently lead high-ambiguity, high-stakes cross-functional initiatives from problem framing through execution — owning both the strategic 'what' and the operational 'how.'
- Collaborate across functions (Operations, Data, Partnerships, Payor Success, Clinical Excellence, Tech, etc.) to align stakeholders and ensure delivery.
- Design and implement scalable systems, workflows, or processes that improve efficiency, quality, or decision-making across the business.
- Manage and develop a small team, including coaching direct reports through performance milestones and creating structured development plans that raise the bar for the broader team.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technology to accelerate your team's workflows — from automating repetitive analysis to streamlining cross-functional coordination — and contribute to the team's evolving AI enablement playbook.
You’ll be a good fit if you are:
- A Strategic Problem Solver: You have ~4–7 years of experience, ideally including time at a top-tier consulting firm (MBB or equivalent) and/or a high-growth tech or healthcare company. You independently scope ambiguous problems, develop structured frameworks, and produce crisp, data-backed recommendations. You've operated in environments where the playbook didn't exist yet and you had to build it.
- A Strong Program Manager: You bring real PM muscle — you can build a project plan, manage complex timelines, coordinate across stakeholders, and ensure execution without losing sight of the strategic objectives.
- A Data-Driven Decision Maker: You ground your thinking in data, using metrics and analysis to uncover insights and guide decisions. You have strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and working knowledge of SQL.
- A Senior Communicator: You're equally comfortable presenting a strategic recommendation to leadership as you are rolling up your sleeves on analysis. You can influence without authority and navigate organizational dynamics.
- A People Manager: You have direct experience managing at least one person — including navigating difficult performance conversations, giving candid feedback, and holding people accountable to clear expectations. You're energized by developing others and raising the bar for your team, not just your own work.
- AI-Forward: You actively use AI tools to improve your own productivity and your team's — from streamlining analysis workflows to accelerating cross-functional coordination. You stay current on the evolving tool landscape and translate that knowledge into concrete efficiency gains. You see AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty.
- Mission-Driven: You're here to change the world, and you connect your work back to the importance of the Grow Therapy mission.
