What We Need

We are looking for a Manager of Software Quality Assurance who will lead and nurture the Geoforce QA team and support them through a broader Software Engineering organizational transformation.

Role and Responsibilities

You will ensure that:

  • Lead & Mentor: The QA team is staffed with collaborative, talented and hardworking QA engineers who come from diverse backgrounds. You will lead and mentor engineers who are responsible for our SaaS platform.

  • Set the Vision: Establish and champion the quality vision across the organization, influencing engineering practices and standards.

  • Drive the Strategy: Spearhead the evolution of our test automation strategy, standardizing tools and pioneering the user of AI/ML to increase efficiency and coverage.

  • Lead by Example: Provide hands-on technical leadership through test plan documentation, code coverage visibility across unit and functional tests setting a high bar for quality excellence.

  • Collaborate for Impact: Partner with product management, development and SRE leaders to build cohesive, quality-first culture and drive strategic initiatives from concept to delivery.

  • Own the Metrics: Define and evangelize key quality and performance metrics (KPIs), including DORA metrics, defect escape rates to continuously improve development lifecycle.

  • Expand the Scope: QA team needs to involved not just functional tests of the application but expand it to Vulnerabilities, load testing, performance testing, DR testing.

  • Evolve processes and tools to help organization with publishing and utilizing metrics across the SDLC.

  • Create and maintain a Quality roadmap to delivery incremental value every quarter.

Knowledge and Skills

Must Have
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience in Quality engineering with at least 3 years leading in a multi-tenant SaaS environment with distributed architecture and Mobile App testing.

  • Proven success in developing and retaining outstanding quality engineering talent.

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and leading the development of modern test automation frameworks for comprehensive UI and API testing.

  • A track record of leveraging deep QA industry knowledge to drive innovative process improvements and foster culture of continuous quality enhancement.

  • How to define, prioritize, track and manage manual and automated test cases.

  • How to identify needed organizational transformations and guide people through them.

  • Proven success in hiring, developing, and retaining outstanding talent.

  • How best to apply test automation technology within an organization that is evolving ad hoc practices into more mature practices.

  • Ability to define a load and performance test plan, with published metrics for API’s and UI.

Preferred to Have
  • Test case management tools such as X-ray and Zephyr.

  • Test case automation frameworks such as Selenium, Gherkin, Postman, Playwright Mobile testing tools such as Browserstack

  • Continuous integration and continuous deployment.

  • Experience in managing Jira process flows, Jira administration, Jira best practices.

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or four extra years of work experience.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance.

  • At least two years of experience managing or leading a team of 3+ QA engineers.

  • At least five years working within a Scrum SDLC, ideally at two or more companies.

  • At least two years each of performing manual testing and automated testing.

  • (Nice to have) At least one year doing testing in an organization that does continuous deployment.
