Your Role:The Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for leading our to lead our Digital Payment Transformation initiatives. This individual will lead multiple Agile teams comprised of highly skilled engineers responsible for migrating legacy payment applications to modern cloud-native systems using the AWS Serverless stack. This role will also focus on the design and management of APIs and integrations crucial to deliver secure, scalable, and customer-centric payment solutions. As an engineering manager will work closely with product, design, and architecture teams.
Your work:Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and handle multiple Agile teams comprised of highly skilled engineers working on AWS Serverless technologies, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Digital Payment Transformation: Oversee the technical delivery of digital payment solutions, including the migration of legacy payment platforms to modern, scalable AWS-based applications.
Cloud Architecture and Integrations: Provide technical direction and support for designing cloud-native architectures using AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.), and oversee the integration of various internal and third-party systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient payment processing.
Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, architecture) to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software aligned with business goals.
API Management: Lead the design, development, and management of RESTful APIs and microservices that power digital payment solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient communication between systems.
Technical Leadership: Guide your team in best practices for coding, cloud infrastructure, Api design , integrations, and DevOps processes. Perform code reviews and ensure the team’s work adheres to high-quality standards.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the point of contact for leadership and stakeholders, providing clear communication on technical challenges, progress, and risks associated with digital payment transformation.
Legacy Application Modernization: Develop and implement a roadmap for migrating existing legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based architecture, ensuring minimal disruption to current business operations.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest technology trends, particularly in cloud services and payment solutions, to recommend and implement innovative approaches that improve business outcomes.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or comparable experience
5+ years' experience in software development.
Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be a focused, process-oriented Manager able to lead implementation of best practice controls and processes.
Must be a highly-organized and results-oriented individual capable of providing technical leadership within the organization.
Ability to communicate sophisticated ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to form strong partnerships with business counterparts.
Effective decision-making skills, even under pressure and while lacking all of the desired information.
Thorough understanding of and validated delivery experience with both traditional and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) project methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to adjust focus to meet changing priorities, strategic directions and shifting customer needs.
Experience leading teams comprised of offshore, nearshore, vendor and local members.
Experience leading applications in a hybrid environment of On-Premise, Cloud, and SaaS.
Actively handles and leads stakeholders; responsible for ensuring stakeholders and leadership are well-informed of pertinent issues, concerns or challenges.
Experience supporting sophisticated systems with significant integration points and external third-party systems through APIs.
