You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.

If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.

Alteryx is searching for a Manager, Software Engineering. This position is remote-friendly.

Position Overview:

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a small, high-impact team of UI engineers building the next generation of agentic analytics experiences at Alteryx.
This role sits at the intersection of product, UX, and agentic backend systems, focused on turning complex analytics workflows into intuitive, responsive, and intelligent user experiences. You’ll lead through others—driving execution, growing engineers, and partnering closely with Product, Design, and backend teams to bring new interaction paradigms to life.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing a team of UI engineers (~5), including hiring, coaching, and performance management

  • Driving delivery of scalable, high-quality UI systems for agentic analytics workflows

  • Translating product and design vision into clear execution plans and delivering predictably

  • Partnering closely with Product, Design, TPM, and backend teams to shape and ship end-to-end experiences

  • Owning team execution, quality, and operational rigor (planning, estimation, tech debt, retros)

  • Guiding frontend architecture, reviewing designs/code, and partnering with senior engineers on technical decisions

  • Driving adoption of modern UI and emerging agentic development practices

Requirements:

  • 6+ years building and shipping software, with strong frontend expertise (e.g., React, TypeScript, modern UI architecture)

  • 2+ years leading engineers, with a track record of delivering through others

  • Experience building complex, user-facing products with high standards for usability and reliability

  • Strong engineering fundamentals (testing, code quality, scalable design)

  • Proven ability to hire, coach, and grow engineers at different levels

  • Strong execution skills—able to plan, prioritize, and deliver with quality and predictability

  • Ability to engage in technical discussions and guide architectural decisions

Valued Skills:

  • Experience building design systems, component libraries, or platform-level UI frameworks

  • Exposure to AI-driven or agent-based product experiences

  • Experience working in fast-evolving product areas with high ambiguity

  • Familiarity with microfrontend architectures or large-scale web applications

About You:

  • You’re energized by building intuitive, high-quality user experiences

  • You lead with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • You balance technical depth with a focus on delivering through others

  • You collaborate effectively across Product, Design, and Engineering

  • You’re curious and motivated by shaping the future of agentic, AI-powered experiences

Compensation:

  • A monthly Connectivity Plus stipend of $150 to support remote work-related expenses

  • An annual $200 home office reimbursement

Alteryx offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial security, and overall well-being, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
