What You Will Do

We are looking for a strategic, culture-driven marketer to join the team as our Manager, Social Strategy & Community. This role will lead the day-to-day evolution of Chomps' social presence, translating brand strategy into platform-native content, meaningful community engagement and social experiences that build awareness, affinity and advocacy.

You'll combine a deep understanding of social platforms and internet culture with strong marketing instincts, ensuring our channels don't just keep pace with culture, but participate in it in ways that feel authentic to Chomps. Working closely with the Director of Social & Influencer, you'll identify emerging opportunities, exercise strong editorial judgment, test new ideas and translate performance insights into smarter strategies over time.

You'll lead our internal community manager and freelance content creators while partnering closely across IMC, Creative, Brand, CX, PR & Partnerships, Ecommerce, Omni-Channel and Analytics to connect social activity to broader brand and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Social Strategy & Content
    • Lead the day-to-day social ecosystem, translating brand priorities into platform-native strategies, content and community experiences while balancing proactive planning with timely cultural participation.
    • Stay deeply immersed in social platforms, internet culture and evolving consumer behaviors, identifying emerging trends and opportunities and exercising strong editorial judgment around when and how Chomps should participate.
    • Partner closely with our internal Creative team to develop best-in-class, platform-native content, while bringing a hands-on mindset to marquee brand moments by identifying storytelling opportunities, ideating shots in real time and helping capture content.
    • Partner with Ecommerce and Omni-Channel Marketing to ensure social plays a meaningful role in supporting product launches, key campaigns and retail moments.
    • Help shape and execute paid amplification strategies for organic social content, identifying opportunities to boost or spark high-performing content to extend reach, engagement and momentum.
  • Community Strategy & Engagement
    • Develop and lead Chomps' community strategy, fostering meaningful engagement, cultivating brand advocacy and strengthening relationships with our audience.
    • Establish best practices for community management, engagement, escalation and brand voice across platforms.
    • Turn community insights and conversations into content ideas, storytelling opportunities and broader marketing recommendations.
    • Partner closely with our Customer Experience team to ensure consumer inquiries and conversations across social channels are handled thoughtfully, expediently and with the care and responsiveness that reflects the Chomps brand.
  • Performance & Innovation
    • Own social performance, using analytics, testing and social listening to translate results into actionable recommendations that improve engagement, efficiency and business impact.
    • Stay ahead of platform changes, emerging technologies and best-in-class practices, leveraging AI and new tools to uncover insights, improve workflows and continuously evolve our approach.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead and develop a team of our internal community manager and external content creators, providing coaching, feedback, and clear direction that elevates both strategic thinking and execution
    • Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to bring forward ideas, recommendations, and data-backed perspectives rather than simply reporting on performance or executing requests
    • Partner cross-functionally with IMC, Brand, Creative, PR, Influencer, Ecommerce and Analytics to ensure social is fully integrated into broader marketing initiatives.

Who You Are

  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in social media strategy, content, community management, or related social disciplines, preferably within CPG, food, lifestyle, or consumer brands
  • Proven experience developing and executing social strategies that drive engagement, brand relevance, and broader marketing objectives
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, internet culture, and evolving consumer behaviors, with strong editorial judgment and a passion for building brands in culture
  • Strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day execution with long-term opportunities, using testing, learning, and analytics to continuously improve performance
  • Comfortable leveraging social listening, analytics, AI, and emerging technologies to inform decisions and improve efficiency
  • Experience leading or coaching community managers, content creators, agencies, or freelance partners
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator with excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for marquee events, activations and other key brand moments.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
